6a13tt gearbox and fto box

hey guys mate is thinking of doin the fto 6a13tt conversion but he wants to know if he buys a half cut can he use the motor and the gearbox and drive shafts. Which would save him a lot of money as his is tip. Would love to know yes or no and if so what you have to do if it will work. Thanks guys

yip just need to weld up tailshaft as wont be required unless he doin awd conversion too

thats exactly way im doing much cheaper to buy half cut and use everything from vr4 as doner motor/box/ecu/ brakes etc etc

so the drive shafts are the same size and will bolt onto the fto guys. How do you weld up the tail shaft area is it just with a plate

Just use the fto box it bolts straight up

No, you wont be able to use the Legnum manual box. Sure it bolts to the motor but the physical size of the box including the tranfer case & rear tailshaft outlet physically wont fit in a standard FTO engine bay.

what Im thinking is weld up the VCD and replace the gears with a dog set from an EVO and you have a FWD dog box in a Galant VR4 housing

I know EVO gearsets fit in the VR4 housing, so its if the VR4 housing will fit in the FTO, as it larger than the standar FTO box isnt it?
