if you want to jack up the whole front the tow hook is the middle of the front chassis rail. I've been jacking of this for years. It works fine, just make sure you get the jack in a position it won't slip of the hook as the car is jacked up.
The factory jack points (ie. where you should put the stands or where workshops use a hoist one) are under the four corners of the car on the chassis rail under the doors behind the front wheel and in front of the rear wheels. I've never used a stand in these positions as I always get a little freaked out by the noises, maybe someone can confirm this is the correct spot.
I usually put the stands under the rear bush of the lower control arm on the front, seems to work fine but I have noticed some FTO's have a bit sticking out the bottom of this bush and you can't do this.
I am a little unsure of using the factory jacking points for stands but I do think this is the place that you should use. Others that do DIY work, do you always only use this spot?
If you look under there, there is a lip that goes in the middle of the factory scissor jack and on the outside edge there is a little bump that looks like it would fit the cup shape of most axle stands. Can anybody confirm this?
