Question about Apoxy / Silicon

Post by sublime19 »

Alrite, trying to fix my project F tail lights. I'll be taking off the silastic / silicone that held the plastic covers onto the taillights with some silicone remover.

Question is about sticking them back on.

I got some "crystal clear finish" Apoxy glue. Will this eat into the paint after it's applied? The lights are chrome dipped, so I won't be able to paint to get the same finish.

Also, will this be my best option in sticking it back on? I don't want it to look like there's glue marks after it's dried up.

Other option - Just use Silicone to stick it back on. I got "Clear finish" silicone but then again, it might be a bit hazy when it dries up.
I have to work - People on the dole depend on me.

i think using any apoxy or silicon will always create haze marks...maybe go to a panel shop or plastics expert they may help with good info?
