Few things need help~

Post by jimmysan »

Hey guys
I have just recently got a fto and loved it, but theres quite a few minor problems i have to solve.
Please kindly advise how much will it costs to fix and where is the best place to go,thanks

1) Driver's side window 's automatic switch doesnt work properly, the window come back to half way down when i use the automatic switch to close it, have to do manually instead.

2) The driver's side ball joint was really bad, have been told that replacement required. Been to mechanic and get a quote for around 300 include labour since it have to be replaced together with the control arm. Is that the case? can any bro help to just get the ball joint itself?

3) When i completely closed all the doors, the indicator on dash board still told me its not closing completely, i think theres problem with the passenger sides' door, have to push really hard to get the lights off.

4) Wheres the best place or good place with reasonable labour cost to service FTO in sydney? And will it cost a lot to replace some aftermarket gear knob, pedals, handbrake? as it makes mine looks better

Sorry for being questionable, but truly i loved this site and my FTO.

Your window probably just needs adjusting. Failing that, if the switch is stuffed, I have a couple of them. And on the door, a bit of adjustment should fix that one too. Find out which door is the problem andhave a look at how the latch connects with the striker. Youll probably find you have to lift the door a little to shut it properly. Readjusting the hinges should fix this.

I had the same problem. Open the door frame and unplug the power window motor from the electronic buttons. This fixed my problem. Try it, it will work. Sounds stupid but it worked for me (cant explain how cos i dont know but it works)

Mitsi list the whole arm as a replacement item but one of the guys in the FTOOC here in the UK got his ball joint pressed out and another fitted.

He got it at http://www.firstline.co.uk/index.html reference nunber FBJ5027.

Apparently it is for other Mitsis and some Protons.

    Hi mate,

I take my car to Armour Joe Auto Repairs; it's near Penrith so a fair way to travel but it's worth it for the great labour rate and quality of work. Phone number 4731-2161.

In my experience, much better work and customer service than UAS, and half the price too.
