My Poor Fto

Post by DanXbix »

My poor FTO GPX has a few issues atm first off the battery is going flat within a week after full charge i know most likely the alternator. When reving car not in gear the battery light comes of at arround 4000rpm and off after & before that. The Next problem is my clutch is sliping i like in 2nd 3rd 4th & 5th, In 3rd & 4th it sometimes takes arround 1000rpm to catch.

1. Will i Need Alternator
2. Will i Need New Clutch
3. Price's & brand i should use for clutch
4. approx cost

Thanks for your help

The first problem is definitely your alternator, I had the same problems a month ago.
LED ALL the things.

My alternator went just a few months before I sold my FTO.

Autocraft replaced it with a new one for around $350.

May be better getting a new one in preference to a second hand one depending on price.

Cheers
