Hey,
Would the climate control fit my 99GPvR... and what would it take to install it and get it working?

Btw does it come with sensors?

Nah, looked into this myself. Youll need a lot more than just the unit. The unit wont include the sensors or the solenoids. The wiring and the solenoids that automatically open and close the flaps are located on each unit under the dash and are needed in place of the cables that are attached to the manual controls. While these bolt directly onto the units you have, the wiring is the killer. You wont have the loom for the climate control and will have to splice a proportion of a GR or GPX loom into the loom you have. I have dismembered a GPX loom with the intention of doing this, but it is NOT a simple exercise.

so basically, a climate control from a GR or GPX is useless on a GPVR loom?

    Noooooooo!!!!!!!!!

the whole point of the GPvR not having climate control was about weight saving. You miss out on lugging around the motors which are needed to move the flaps, etc.

Put down the ECU and step away from the car

Yeah i no the point, i just thought it would be good to have climate control and figured the weight difference would be nothing.

Didn't think about all the motors and wireing though... point taken :?

Then they should have made a GPX with all the gofast and handling bits as well!

Seriously, have you seen the size of the motors guys. the weight is negligable. Go on a bloody diet if you want to lose weight :P
