Actually to start with you will need discs $
Callipers lots more $
May pay to change to braded lines $
Pads of course $
Might have to change master cylinder $
and will have to make sure you have wheels that have clearance

not to mention if you want to do rears its a whole lot more expensive again

I take it you've had a look at the UAS and RPW kits?

It could be your wheel hitting the guards. Mine does that all the time.

I love it... you want a big brake kit, but you've a suspension problem  I know what I'd be spending my money on first!

UAS kit is pretty good btw, but I dont recommend it for street use only.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the UAS brake upgrade kit is just too big for an FTO if you're only using it at the street.

Simple physics; the kit comes off a 1600kg car and goes onto a 1200kg car.
The bigger the car, the harder the brakes work to stop it, the hotter the brake pads get.
Brake pads are made to work best at a certain 'operating' temperature.
Because the FTO is a lighter car, you'd only reach the 'operating' temperature of the pads when you drive the car really hard, ie. on a race track.

Also, with your knocking noise. I have (had) an annoying knocking noise under my front right wheel as well. You'll be pleased to know that in the end it was simply the plastic wheel well guard coming loose and knocking itself about.

I fixed it with fishing line (cos I had already been to the effort of taking the wheel off and realised I had no cable ties) and it stopped the noise.
Then it started again cos the fishing line broke  . I'll think of a more permanent fix soon
