about headlight

hi guys~~i just got a pair of new hb4 lights from ebay, the brand name called elipse 4500k 12v 80w~130w(super white).Once i replaced the new lights,i still found the low beams are very dull??why?????should i do some adjustment?and i can feel the light switch is very hot when the light is on

anyone else correct me if iam wrong but your highbeam bulbs should not be 80Watts plus. They should be 51/55watts. Hence the reason why your light switch is getting hot and that it's absorbing most of the power from your normal beams.

^^^^ yes agree, if they are HID they should be even less than that, around 35w

forget about halogen....waste of money IMO..as i spent $100 on bulbs before, and finally went with hid...

Those ones i posed before total $20 with postage....does that seem about right ? lol...oh well...already bought them,.

Just make sure you put some electrical grease on the sockets before you connect the bulbs, because if you don't say bye bye to the sockets cos the WILL melt...i know from experience.

The reason why the HB4 are so dull is because the bulb has a masking at the tip, you can use 9005 i think which are the same as the high beam but you would need to do some sanding so they fit properly. check the DYI section otherwise just invest on some HID, i did in the end

Just mod the HB lights and put them into your LB, that's what I did.

Normal LB is 51W and the HB is 60W which work's fine in the LB socket. No heat !

so the ones i posted earlier are not HID ?? im confused....it says HID...and the JoeJoe talks about HB? LB?... please explain..

Is the ones i got HID ?

Harry no the ones you got are HB4 xenon, the are just upgraded bulbs. HID's come with a ballast (which is a small box) and new bulbs.

HB4 = the shape of the plastic piece that the bulb (glass bit) is connected too).

Just do a search on ebay for HID and you will wee what i mean
