Oil recomendations

Im ready to to my first oil change on 94 GPX with 90,000k
and not sure which oil to buy?

i think most people reccomend a 10w/40 but check out the link for more help.

Yeah 10w 40w sounds about right but i wouldnt recommending fully synthetics especailly if you have noisey tappets now as they will get real loud.

Ive been using 0w/40w but now i know i can use 10w.40w i might change and save some $$$

^^^^ where do you live. 0w is for really cold climates like sweeden etc. I never went below 10w in nz

I recently started using the 5w, noticed a big difference in response

I still got the bottle in the boot of my car, i'll tell u exactly what it is when i go down to the carpark later

Autobarn stock that stuff. It's spose to be fairly decent and is really popular in the states apparantly... For those that use it, is it as good as the redline???

fark me, i wouldnt put that in mine, it may be great (probably fully synthetic too) but IMO its a waste of money for the majority of cars plus my tappets would be screaming (assuming thats its synthetic)

Yeah it's a bit steep. I use motul which was around the $50 mark but its only semi synthetic. The royal purple is full synthetic and is spose to give 'some' performance gains. Meh, who knows though right

if you use anything BUT full syn. then your a spastic.

5w30 is the right oil to be using in your FTO if everything is adjusted properly.
10W40 would be ok. M1 0W40 would be ok also. I'm not going into it but mobil 0W40 is fine.

As for oils being a waste of money....why skimp on something so important when your spend thousands on your car? makes no sense.

if your tappets are noisy - fix them..
