Bob Jane Tyres - Opinions?

Post by mr-charisma »

Hey all,

Has anyone ever used, or heard opinions from people who have used the Bob Jane - Xenon Z1 tyres?

They claim "Extreme performance without the extreme price tag"
just wondering how true this is compared to other tyres..

Looking to spend somewhere between $600-800 so if anyone has any other recommendations for good tyres with good wet handling that'd be good..

CHRISTIANITY: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

go to a tyre specialist/rim specialist and get it cheaper (a private shop, not bob jane etc) and they will do you a better deal. you can even cosider trading your old tyres for new ones. will end up being a little bit cheaper. i hardly think you want tyres just lying around.

I don't think anyone would want my tyres in the condition they're in .. they're balder than a brazillian beaver.. hence the urgency in getting some newies - want to drive my car again! :(

If you want tires that are cheap but decent performance, try Maxxis MA-Z1 (thats a "one" at the end). Nothing but good reports and in tests, it is in the pack of UHP (ultra high performance) e.g. Bridgestone Re050, Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 etc. It's usually at the end of the UHP pack but excels in wet performance. And crappest UHP tire will almost certainly outperform high performance tires or k-mart special ones.

I've driven on the MA-V1 (one under the Z1's) and yeah they're quite nice. Bloody cheap too compared to Yoko or Bridge etc.

i forget the names of good brand tyers, but i'm sure if you look on nissan sites you will find some good tyers they use (since nissan turbo cars have so much trouble with sliding out)
maybe if i'm really bored at work i will look :P

Hahahahaha.

mr-charisma said 600-800 lol. Most UHP tires will fall outside the 800 mark.

took me about 2 mins on google -

* made by kumho in korea through sister company Marshall
* tread design is the old Marshall 717 pattern
* good feedback on wear, grip & overall performance
* recommended for everyday driving, not performance
* better than Nankangs but not quite as good as a Falken ST-115, Bridgestone GridIII

Just bought some Federal SS595's fitted today :) .. there were loads of good reviews on the Skyline sites & a few other performance car forums & heard a few people saying how well they stick to the road, so figured I'd give them a try.

All up 215/45/17's were $568 fitted & $55 for wheel alignment .. so not bad on price either.

Will let everyone know how they go when I get a chance to give them a good run

Good choice with the federals. I got SS 535's on mine and they're a pretty decent tyre. I imagine the 595's are even better cos they're spose to be newer or something

I paid 680 or something for a set of F1 GDS3s a year ago for my 17s.
