it's a 225/40 R18

i can out 2 finger between the car and the tires

hmm...

Could be that the wrong profile of tyre is fitted for the wheels you've got ..

Could be that your suspension / struts are worn if it happens going over bumps or cornering sharply..

Could possibly be worn springs, might need replacing if the spring rates are buggered.

Check under your wheel arches to see if the wheels are rubbing on the plastic guard .. if the plastic guards on wheels arches are loose, cable tie them back up if they're hanging too low hitting your tyres..

Also, you can do a basic suspension check by pushing down on each of the struts& if the suspension keeps bouncing / doesn't stay firm when you let off it could be faulty suspension

Take it in to Pedders for a $14 check if you think there might be probs..

Really you should have 35 profile for those rims. I have 225/35/18 and i get no rubbing at all. But like mr c said it could be everything that he said as well. It also could be the offset of the rim

In saying that i just checked my car and i can get 1 finger in so mine is sitting lower than yours. So im guessing its the offset of rim or multiple factors

Don't worry about it mate, could understand the gist of it - I8A4RE is sometimes harder to understand, and english is his first language

it should be "I think I have to raise the front a bit[/b]

Anyway, I8A4RE wasn't exactly wrong about getting under there with a hammer .. depending on where it is rubbing against, it could work .. but you would just have to make sure that what you'd be hitting with the hammer is not important..

I'm pretty sure the problem is the 225/40, as somebody said before 35 would be right.
