Ideas for custom dash

Post by FtoSam »

Riiiiiggggghhhttttooooo

Building myself a custom dash... because im sick of the current one...

Have just ordered myself a new Speedo Which will sit where the Tacho currently sits (Should look different)...

The tacho will be the centerpiece of the new dash..

Other guages i already have elsewhere in the car are:
- Water Temp
- Oil Temp
- Oil Pressure
- Boost
- Volts

So all i really need is the fuel guage... Plus a few warning lights..

This is the sort of design im thinking of...

Anybody else have any other ideas?? Only want to do this once...

The warning lights will be done by backlit LEDs. Fuel warning light will be just a plain LED.

Current Setup:

New Other Guages (already done)

Centerpiece tacho:

New Speedo: (My Logo is the FTO logo)

Does this mean you're not going to want the Aluminium Dash Surround? I've ordered & paid for it (been f***ed around by Aus Post with the shipping though, it got to Aus, but then they sent it back to the UK - the idiots)
Should be here in a week or two, but I can always sell it on to someone else if you no want.. should be no dramas..

I've been toying with the idea of a completely digital dash for a while now (like in Toyota/Lexus Soarer - seriously, once I saw it I fell in love..)

I want one similar to this, from an Astra apparently (Red, to suit my car :P)
Image

Would be cool to have a Haltech Digi Dash unit in there somewhere Image Dunno if they're something you'd be into? (just a thought)

Or one of these;

I imagine that there would be some dramas to get the digital dash working - wiring sensors & what not, might need to be done by a pro .. if it could be done at all. But it would definitely be unique if I ever get around to it..

aluminium surround? I forgot i even ordered one..

Could you try and sell it to someone else??

If you cant, i'll just buy it and sell it myself... And just wear the loss...

I like those dash's... The Haltec one pretty sure has to have a haltec ECU...

Mine is a microtec...

Was thinking about digital, but i like the style of regular guages (easier to tel when somethings wrong)...
