What an fto is not good for..(mine anyway!)

Well it all starts off with the decision to take my wife up to the wineries in the hunter valley to celebrate our 1st Date anniversary...22 years ago.OWSBO..(one who should be obeyed)recently got herself a peugeot 307cc and she loves the thing to death. I recently got myself an fto...Nemo to be exact.So the inevitable arguments over which car we take seems to rotate around the weather patterns,good days tend to favour the covertable peugeot,whereas poorer days I get the occasional win.Please note any singular cloud in the sky...in my state or any other in this fine country is and forever will be deemed a poor day!!!!!.If you have been to the valley to sample our fine wines youll understand the roads...omfg...the roads can be considered ....well...somewhat F%#$ed.Step into the limelight NEMO...conquerer of um...nothin yet i guess...still to be driven in anger.Surfice to say 19" rims, 35 series tyres, G4 coilovers,Night time, rather ordinary headlights, rain,huge potholes,Hope your gettin the picture here.
What a god awful drive it was....thankfully we have close family that love us both .....as we are now bed ridden awaiting the new kidneys to arrive.Fear NOT, we are told this is almost day procedure now,and should be ok by tomorrow.
Im sure there must be something this car is good for. (keeping an eye out for track days),And the occasional autosalon.Well the doc has told me i need all the rest i can get as part of the rehabilitation process is having to lovingly pamper (detail) said vehicle as this is obviously my fault for risking the vehicle in such conditions.
Ive been told that i should get used to coughing up blood...no pain no gain they say.

Do what I did and pull out the Jap spec shocks and put something softer in. I had the same problem. Driving down the coast each weekend from Canberra on Jap spec Bilsteins. I kept worrying that by the time I got to the end of the trip the number plate (and various other parts) would be missing due to the rattling they had taken. Not to mention the rattles inside the car that used to drive me nuts. If its to be a track car, leave the coilovers in and if not get yourself a softer setup and put a set of lowering springs in to keep it looking nice and low. It will still out handle most other things on the road.

The G4's are ok ... You can hove them adjusted.. Maybe they are on a real firm setting ???

.............and im pretty sure you can change the spring rate on them, to just about wahteva you want well thats what the dude sid to me when i brought mine. I know i got like 5.2 or somewhere round there and they are pretty stiff even on the softest setting. SO maybe give justjap a ring and ask them for there softest spring rate maybe round the 2 mark, but atleast have a talk to them

Yeah feel your pain.

I've got (from what the mechanic told me) Bilsteins that are (from what my ass and internal organs tell me) jap-spec and bloody stiff.

I plan on re-building the coilovers within the next year with a softer spring rate, but I wanna take my time and get it just right because I don't think my fronts are damper adjustable.

Theyd be the ones I had. I had mine revalved by Fulcrum in Melbourne.

I've got Jap Spec Teins - had them revalved by Fulcrum in QLD. They can revalve up or down a certain percentage depending on the spring rate used on the shock. For major revalving they change the spring as well.

I had jap spec tein type ha (one step short of a full track coilover i believe). Got used to them

... though i didn't like it when i had to drive down parramatta road or through kingsgrove road with the fto back then.
