weird sound from the passenger side..

Post by fto12345 »

Hello,

When I accelerate I hear some kind of weird noice coming from the passenger side, maybe from underneath or from the engine bay...
It soulds like some kind of belt being worn out..

When I turn the air con I can hear it when the rev goes up high...but when in idle or without putting in a gear I don't hear it even if I press on the accelerator.
Only when it's in gear and accelerating I can hear this....and it gets louder as I accelerate more...

This mechanic thought it was a wheel bearing so he fixed that and the noice is still there.....dumb ass!!!

Any one any ideas?

Thank you,

I had this happen will my other car before, i know is one of the belt but i can't remember which one, cause i changed all the belt in the end for the sake of "just in case".

But I'm sure Danny, Scracy, Ruchi & of course Mikey can tell you which one though

The only thing is that if I press on the accelerator without any gear in...mine is a manual...then no matter how much I rev the thing, I don't get the sound...but if I put the gear in and accelerate then I get the sound...it sounds like it's coming from the engine bay about the mid section..
It's easier to hear it if the speed isn't enough and I chuck in a higher gear, so that the engine is working hard...it's quite noticeable then....

However, I have just changed by exhaust from UAS and I thought the sound is very similar to the sound from the exhaust...so I thought the pipes weren't srewed in properly, so this morning I gave it all I got and tightened it as much as I could and the sound seems to be a slightly reduced but I think that may just be a psycological effect..
Any one that had the exhaust changed will know what I mean...that blow off valve sound you get when you rev it to around 3500~4000rpm and change gears...that's the sound I get inside the car as well....
Is this some thing every one else is getting as well? Maybe I'm getting it in my car cause I have a stereo blanking panel missing? So it's a lot louder for me in my car? The only thing is I am quite sure that I wasn't getting this sound before the last weekend's cruise...but started getting it on the way back home.

Any ideas any one???

After watching 2 Fast 2 Furious last night, I was going to suggest that the "weird sound coming from the passengers side" might actually be the passenger screaming as you press the ejector seat button!

But to get back on topic, has this only occured since having the exhaust changed? Has anything else happened or been done around the time it started? (anything, even if it appears insignificant)
