Hyper-tech Racing Craft muffler

Post by rxboy »

Has anyone got the Hyper-tech Racing Craft muffler?

With Hyper-tech having a good reputation, I'm wondering if I would be better off with this one rather than a Jap brand.

If someone does have it installed, is it loud and what kind of dyno-proven performance gains did you get?[/quote]

Alex, i got one fitted on mine (carbonfibre barrel with titanium tip)... The car originally came with a 5Zigen cat-back system but i since replaced the muffler for the Hypertech job.

It came with a silencer as well and i noticed that removing the silencer plug made it rev more freely and the fuel consumption appears much better too (extra 50-odd kms per fill)... unfortunately i do not have any dyno figures but it sounds sweet anyway and i sure go faster than i normally would! ;)

since you're coming to the Phillip isl cruise, you can see/hear it for yourself...

Great idea Mike! I'll check it out at the cruise.

Without the silencer does yours pass the EPA cutoff?

well let's put it this way, without the silencer plug fitted on mine, it's still nowhere near as loud as Eric's (MADFTO), yet his exhaust is just right on the legal decibel limit (and he's got the EPA papers to prove it).

by the way they are about $500 fitted.
