SOLD the FTO !!

Post by RalliartBoy »

Well, after an exhausting and sleepless last few nights, i decided to accept an offer on the FTO and we parted companies last night.

Was not an easy decision to make but given a few factors (Thanks Mr Rudd), the decision was made to let her go.

Just finished doing the sparayed carbon fibre bonnet, D-Cuartro front bar and a lot more things, which i guess is why the offer came.

Not too sure what's next, looks like the family car is the way to go.

The new owner is a member on here i believe so i will leave it to him if he wishes to annouce his purchase or not.

I'll try and get some pics up of how she looked right at the end.

I'll still be on here as i have found this to be a very good forum and great bunch of guys (sorry, haven't met any ladies off here yet).

Look out for a long lit of parts for sale coming up shortly as this was a unfinished project and i have heaps of good gear left.

Dude sad to see you sell your baby, im sure it must have been the right decision for ya and good luck with the new purchase. However if you buy a Hyundai you will be bannned hahaah.

Side note: Very interested in what you got for sale man, any idea when you going to post the stuff, cause i always miss out somehow on the goodies

Got a good price for it. Wasn't going to sell but would have been lloking for a family car in a little while anyway and didn't think this offer would come along again so I took the offer. Just finished her last weekend too.

At least she has gone to a good home.

I will be sticking around as i have found this to be a very good club and I have met some nice people.

As far as parts are concerned, i'll get that list up over the next couple of days but includes custom eyelids, Unichip, Chrome Dial Surrounds, Chrome Surround for the dials, Sports Pedals, Blue LED's for the climate control screen and more bluie neons.

Was a bit of a shock to me too but the offer was too good to refuse and the extra two doors will come in handy if you know what I mean.

Mate spend enough money on a lawn mower and you can make it pull 238.1kw @ the wheels  , doesnt mean i want to own and the list is way too long to start explaining whats wrong with them, but i will say is, everyone i have seen (i have seen a lot) the interior doesnt even last 80,000km. Totally inferior materials and manufacturing, but you get what you pay for

I had a Hyundai and I sold it with 150'000Ks on it and it still ran as good as the day I got it from new, and the interior was the same so it just comes down to how you look after it I gess.

Well, the full story was it got an Evo conversion done to it ... But the G4CP engine is just a Mitsubishi 4G63 with a Hyundai logo ... So it didn't need a lot of cash thrown @ it .. I just went ape with mods ... it was basically a bolt in ...

Body was great, paint was awesome and didn't have to spend a cent on it... Car was a 97 model, that I got rid of in 2007 ... Interior was immaculate... All carpet fine, seats great, roof lining perfect ... All plastic the same colour as the day I drove it off the lot... Car had about 105,000 on it ... Only problem it caused me stock was 1 clutch, front wheel bearing, and the powersteering pulley ... Other then that... Trouble free.... No electrical problems, no little mysterious issues... Just general service and drive ... All power options, air bag ...

How big

Post by msbchi »

How big a family you gonna have dude? My FTO is the family car. We also use it to go to the beach house loaded up with me / the missus /one twelve year old kid/ two cats a dog and all our luggage including pet accessories and food for us and them and the Xbox + games and vids. Must admit there is not much space left but we fit it all in.
Maybe didn't need to sell it after all, but it could be in my favour as I'm interested in the instrument surroun and dial rings.

Hey there Bilbojo.

Glad you got home safe and are happy with the car, i miss it already.

Well, we tried using the FTO as a family style car but seriously, we couldn't do it and still be comfortable and practical.

I built the car to be enjoyed and taken to nice places, not shopping centres and primary schools.

I'll be back in another sports car soon, just got other things to concentrate on.

I'll still be around with you guys and I hope Nick (Bilbojo) continues to bring the car out on cruises.

As for the lights, you will probably need a HID Kit to brighten things up. They are fairly cheap these days and effective but be wary as they are illegal (as are many other things that are fun or make the car enjoyable).

I'll have the list of parts up tomorrow i hope so those of you that have PM'd me, let me know if you want the parts or not so i can post them up too.

And yes I8AFRE, i'm a big bright lights in a car fan too !! Let me know if you want the LED's, they are still new.
