Bullshit you will pay 1500 for a f^&ken half cut, its probably worth 8 or 9k. The window will cost you 150 the consol will cost you 150 and the alternator if you need to replace will cost you any from 150-450. Rego in qld 650, thats a total of 1300 dollars........oh no i can see how that totals to a 6 grand price drop..... friggan noobs
p.s thats a ball park figure without seeing pics.

that sounds about right. 2 x $1500 = $3000I8AFRE wrote:Bullshit you will pay 1500 for a f^&ken half cut
it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. So far, all the fto's I've seen that have either been in an accident or was not running have sold for $3000-ish. I think if your willing to pay 8 or 9k then she should sell it to you. Honestly, would you pay 8k for a car that's not running and unregistered when you can buy a fresh import with 3 years warranty for 9k?I8AFRE wrote: its probably worth 8 or 9k.
you forgot a key aspect in those prices, LABOR. Plus all those prices you quoted do not include the Mitsubishi Australia mark up.I8AFRE wrote:The window will cost you 150 the consol will cost you 150 and the alternator if you need to replace will cost you any from 150-450. I don't want to get in the middle of the little tiff you two have going ... but to MizFTO;
It's worth the some of all its parts .. and a full car with only damage to the window glass & an alternator is going to be worth more than 2-3k even if he sells it off piece by piece
I've never seen a partially damaged FTO go for less than 4-5k unless its been busted up pretty bad.. and even still, if it sold for 2-3k it would have been because it was a complete mess, the owners had already been paid out for their insurance claim & its been picked up by someone who wants to sell it for parts & knows they can get more than that for it..
I think it depends on whether the rest of the panels have been damage in the hail storm as well.. but there was one a while ago with hail damage that sold for i think 5-6k or so but otherwise in good condition.. and that was only because it would have costed a few grand at least to fix..
Anyways, i hope that helps..

I'm not trying to have a stab at anyone but I just don't like people calling me a noob when they don't even know me.
we need to look in the eye of a potential buyer here. I personally would not pay 8-9k for a damaged car when I know I can buy a running, registered and cosmetically undamaged fto with 3 year warranty for that money.
Below is 2 damaged fto's that are for sale. one was on ebay and the highest bid was $1.4k and the other is on this forum which has an asking price of $3.5K. I'm not saying that you car is not worth 8K or whatever. I'm just giving you a realistic market price which people are asking for or willing to pay.

Good luck with the sale.

About 6
I would say about 6K (maybe 7 if your lucky). Ive bought 3 wrecks and owned 3 FTOs and researched this one quite a bit. As mentioned above, you can get FTOs for 9K that are complete, registered and running. That is not to say that they are going to be in a condition comparable with yours if it was complete. Problem is, people dont tend to buy cars that arent complete. It would really be worth spending the extra and getting it completed. You will make the money back. The problems you have arent big ones.
And unfortunately, the car is not always worth the some of its parts. I bought 2 FTO's off ebay 3 years ago for $3200

you could of had my window if your boyfriend didnt keep wasting my time! i got roughly 9k out of my wreck, but i stripped it and sold off parts individually, plus i had some decent aftermarket stuff too.

+1 that the value of your car is only what someone is willing to pay for it.
my last fto was hail damaged but otherwise in reasonable condition, but when push came to shove it went for just over 4k.
I agree with others that you'll be much better off finishing it yourself, cos most people don't have the means, time or inclination to 'finish' it themselves, and the type of people who do have the means, time or inclination aren't going to pay anything more than absolute bottom dollar.

Of course a car is only as much as someone wants to pay for it....uh duh. and the cars not a right off or in two pieces

Labour..... if you cant replace it yourself its hardly gonnna cost 5k in labour for someone else to do it, 1hr window, 1.5hr alternator..... a couple hundred dollars cover that easily.
Mitsubishi Australia mark up. OMG

And maybe you need glasses noob boy casue where does she state its not running and that its been in accident, i hardly call some hail smashing a window a accident. Saying a car has been in a accident is saying that the car has come in impact with another object and usually why someone would not pay much for that is because of the chance of structual damage etc.
PS it was egging you on, no need to get so defensive and yes i would quite happily buy her car off her for 8k fix those problems and sell it and make a easy couple grand profit. that is if there is no major panel damage

God your a tool, you obviously didnt pay any attention to anything else i had to say. Stop ruining other peoples threads with crazy rants. Maybe if i had 8k i would buy it, maybe i wouldnt thats got nothing to do with you. besides the point that she lives no where near me. Now stop acting like a 12yr and let this girl find out the answers to her questionspimped wrote:mate, put your money where your mouth is.I8AFRE wrote:yes i would quite happily buy her car off her for 8k fix those problems and sell it and make a easy couple grand profit. that is if there is no major panel damage
