My engine squeaks (im pretty sure its coming from the belts on the right hand side) but they only squeak when the revs are below about 2000 and even then it doesn't always happen (about 90% of the time it does happen)
Is it just a matter of tightening the belt or lubricating it or something?
Yeah probably tighten them and see if it goes away

Bah. Now i have a squeak coming coming from the front left of my car (could be cabin or engine) . The left hand squeak stopped when i picked up my brother and friend from work and they both sat on the left hand side (~150kg) could this mean suspension?
The right hand side stopped for a bit when i put some lubricant on the pulley but it started again, i guess i need a new one. Anyone know how much knew pulleys are?
Now the squeak from the left hand side has eased into a steady grinding sound when i go over bumps or have someone in the passanger seat... Im getting it looked at on Monday. Should i stop driving it until then?

Not on the left hand side it wont...
I had ride height issues when my car was too low, but it was just the grinding sound of tyre vs inner guard. Yours could be gearbox related... ...had a second opinion yet? Perhaps goto a mechanic to get it on a hoist at the least...

Droplink!
All suspension components are in A1 condition, raising my ride height 20 mm obviously fixed it. Can coil-overs sag over time? Is it possible my camber plates had slipped or something? I was at a loss to explain why the left side had suddenly gotten lower. Granted it was only ~5mm, but it was all it took for constant rubbing...
I've heard that a simple spray of WD40 fixes squeeking from belts..could this be a dangerous short term fix?
Also, I have never replaced belts before, how much can i expect to pay for the parts and fitting?? i just dont want to get done!
Cheers,
Phil
DO NOT SPRAY ANY BELTS WITH WD40
just replace them the both cost around 30 each and are availible anywhere they are generic
for cost its 30min job at shop at the most or give it a go yourself there is a diy on the complete fto site its very simple
