Blown Bulb

how to change the bulb...i looked in the DIY section but couldnt find it....

its the front right lower light !!! i can take the one screw out...but then the other one is not reachable...i have tried at least half a dozen screwdrivers but it cant get to it...so i thought maybe there is meant to be another way to take the light out ?

in case you dont understand its the lights at the front of the car at the bottom...(very bad description... lol)

what year is your car? On the older ones there is just a screw at the front, remove it and then pull the whole light assembly out. It might need a little encouragement, I know mine did.

are you talking about the fog light and indicator pod.

if so then as far as i know there is only 1 screw holding it in and then it just slides out.

once it is out, the bulb is removed by turning the bulb holder until it is un-locked.

then simply replace the bulb and do the same steps in reverse.

its a 95...but after i take the screw out...it seems like there is something else to be removed...it is still pretty solid in place (although loose after taking the screw out)...should i put some more muscle into pulling it out ? i didnt try to hard cos i didnt want to break anything...

Yeah, just the one screw. There's a socket-like clip that holds it there firmly... I need to put my hand under the bumper and up behind it and push it out quite firmly before it shifts.

EDIT: ... and it jumping out and hitting me in the face isn't that uncommon either

There are 2 metal shafts with bulbed ends that kinda clip into plastic locators inside.

That's what's holding it there when you undo the screw.

The trick is to pull it out "straight" i.e. directly towards you if your square with the front of the car.

Make sure that these shafts line up in their holes again when you put them back in too.

ok i found the bulb but how do i change it now ? i am having trouble literally removing the bulb from its holder ( i have taken the bulb and the holder out of the light )...

If it's the one i'm thinking of (small 10mm across) it's a T10 Wedge. Just pulls straight out.

could be ...but i have tried to pull it straight out...it seems stuck? or not really moving in any direction ? and its a small dark blue/black bulb

OK, if it's the very small bulb and blue/black, that's your park light bulb, not your indicator.

Indicator bulb is a bayonet fitting (Twist and pull) and will probably be orange in color. Much bigger in size too.

Try the next bulb fitting to the outside of the car.

But my indicator is the one not working !!! The bulb is a dark blue/black in color...but it is my indicator not working...my light is working perfectly..my indicator does not even turn on !!!

You could always leave the front screw in a couple of turns

That's why I said to try the next bulb fitting to the outside of the car...

Bad picture, need one from the back, but you'll get the idea:

The one you have out is the park light.

There is a cover (grey from memory) with wires coming out of it in the area I've circled.
This cover will twist a quarter turn or so and can then be pulled out.
There will be a bulb holder and your indicator globe inside this cover (usually orange).
This globe is a bayonet style.
Push the globe in a little and it will turn easily in one direction then stop.
It will then just pull straight out of the holder.
When you get a replacement, take the bulb with you, the small metal lugs on the side of the globe's base are positioned differently on some globes.
Any auto store should have a replacement...

Word to the wise:
Buy 2 globes and change both sides at the same time.
If one's gone, the other's gunna go soon...
