Man, I received more than 3 dozen virus emails this morning, why don't people use virus software?

In his own signature he admits to being a "spammer", so why not give him that title?

Cause there is a World forum for hackers, & they get score for hacking & creating new virus, so lots of ppl r trying to work their way "up the ladder" & they usually leave their signature behind once succeed.

Is sad to say but this forum site was a great example!!!

Updated Norton virus definitions the moment I heard the Novarg/MyDoom virus hit.

Wasn't as lucky with the blasted Blaster worm a few months ago

I'm now receiving 80-90 emails a day from people who have been infected by this!

I used to be a big fan of Norton's until their latest anti-virus (2004), but I found the performance difference between it and 2003 was just so much worse.

I recently changed across to McAfee and did a scan, and it found remnants of viruses which Norton's had not picked up on! 8O Thankfully they were nothing serious.

I'm connected to the net 24x7x365 and the anti-virus gets checked for updates 2-3 times a day (automatically) so it was as updated as it could get, yet Nortons was still missing stuff that McAfee picked up.

I used to love Nortons and would promote to anyone who asked, now I am very dubious about it. I also read a number of recent tests of anti-virus software (as I was looking to replace Nortons) and in each review I read, McAfee came ahead of Nortons (at least any test done within the last two years).

Today the virus emails are going ballistic! I have received nearly 150 and its only midday! 8O

surely your ISP must have some sort of filter or security patch loaded on the mail gateway/server/firewall to stop this???

you're prob using outlook/express right? considering 90% of all viruses out there are aimed at MS-products, i tend not to use Outlook for email purposes... so far it's holding up well *fingers crossed*

i hope they catch the bastard who started this so he/she can get thrown into jail and have their ass absolutely fux0r3d!

I'd rather do the filtering at my end, at least then I see what I am filtering out.

I use outlook, but my end isn't the issue, I'm well protected, it's all the people who have my email address and who don't have virus protection sending stuff to me!

Micro$oft is offering USD$250K for anyone who can tell them who it is.
