2 light issues

Post by FTOnick »

How do you adjust where the headlights are pointing? because mine are looking directly at the ground
and
Are the parkers meant to be on all the time while the engine is on (even when the lights are off)?

not sure how to adjust the headlights angle but i know for sure that the side lights are not meant to be one all the time.

u should definately get that fixed.

just take it to an auto electrician and they should be able to fix both problems.

I8A4RE's DIY GUIDE: to adjusting headlight aim.

Post by I8A4RE »

1)Park car about a 800mm away from wall.
2)Turn headlights onto low beam
3) Low beam lights should be not higher than the center of the headlamp on wall.
4) Adjust up and down by turning the adjustment screw (A)
5) Adjust Left and right by turning the adjustment screw (B) PICS WILL COME SHORTLY SO HOLD TIGHT

the parkers would only stay on while the engine is on if the car was serviced by a volvo mechanic  but as above they are not meant to stay on.

Isn't there a pushbutton just to the right of the main instrument cluster that turns the parkers off and on independant of the light switch?

When you get the pics of the screws, and which way to turn them, think you could make it a DIY? Really can't find anything under various different searches.
If you can't dazzle them with dexterity, baffle them with bull...

He he... Another burned out foggie switch

If your only getting parkers, dash lights and tail lights when that button is on, you have a typical FTO problem. The foglight switch has burned out.

Easy to fix... Wire in a relay like Mitsi should have done in the first place.
There are threads on this... Use the search button, then ask if you have any probs.

The switch can be disassembled pretty easily, mine had plastic melted all round the contact for the foggies, just scrape it away.
Still put the relay in there too though... Or else it'll just happen again.
