just got in my car 2 go to the shop and my gearbox is having problems

its a 4sp tiptonic

the dash lights for the gearbox and not on at all and if u put it in drive there is no change when you stop and start again its like its starting on 4th or something

i tried turning the car off and back on again but to no avail

can someone please help me!!

What about when you put in to tip mode and take off, does it go through the gears normally or is it like drive, feels like it is taking off in 4th?

what i mean is theres no dash light tiptronic is not workin and even in drive it doesnt change gears is just stays in 1 gear but i dont know whta that gear is because i cant see it

Yeah sounds like its gone into limp mode.

Use the search. i think someone else has complained about this just recently

i'm assuming the instructions are on the link he posted up.

follow the instructions and see what comes up. who knows the N light might come on just for this lol, no harm in trying

and as for you needing a new gearbox... maybe not, it could be something simple like previously said, sensors or something (i think thats ironic actually lol), or it might be the sensors actually did their job rather than just breaking and there is somethign else wrong, might just need to get parts of it fixed or replaced.

anyways... just try the error code thing. hopefully that will give us a clue as to whats wrong. that asided... where abouts are you? u might want to ask/search around for some good mechanics close to you.

nrma came n looked at it said its an electronic transmission problem most likely a solenoid or sumthin

its gettin towed to the mechanic on monday
