Its a CV joint, and its an ass of a job.
Gotta pull wheel off, pull split pin out of castle nut, remove castle nut, undo the strut from the hub, cut the strap on the inner Universal joint, then jiggle the entire driveshaft out of the hub & uni joint.
You then have to bash the CV joint off the drive shaft, pull the grease filled boot off & then reassemble. New boot, new ties, new grease, bash CV joint on, get the drive shaft back in the car... and if you have adjustable suspension, get a wheel alignment.

the best plan
Mate, dont bother trying to change the CV joint yourself its a small problem that would cause you a hassle to do on your own
go to your mechanic and let him know - he would easily be able to change the CV joint
if costs are the problem you have to find out 2 things, is it the whole CV joint? or is it just the boot (rubber part)
if its the whole CV joint it could cost up to $150 to fix but you get a 2 year warantee
if its jus the boot you can get it changed for about $60 - $80 second hand
but yea my advice is dont try and DIY - its one of those things that shouldnt be played with by an amatuer mechanic
