bracket thingo (rear suspension)

Post by BorepYano »

ok, i've noticed a creaking sound coming from the rear driverside quarter of the car whenever i go over bumps or turn (assumed it was something to do with the suspension on that corner), actually i noticed it a while ago, and it went away so i didnt bother checking it out
it came back recently so i finally got off my ass and check it out.
it seems the bracket thingo is rusted through and cracked open, here's a pic:

now obviously i have to replace that lol, just wondering if anyone know how much it'll cost me (just being a little girl, scared of mechanics lol) and is it still safe to drive the car (for another few hundred kms)?
as far as i can see, it shouldn't have dmged any other parts, but can someone reasure me about that please lol

Can you give us a bigger shot - not in size, just include surrounding parts that are attached...

Ahh, its the sway bar bracket. Yes, you probably could drive it a few hunderd kms. Yes, it will probably snap.

Surely dstocks wold have a spare. If you must drive with it, I'd pull that bracket off all together.
