dial install

Simple as the topic suggests,

how do you install the dials on the car? I want to take the needle out but scared i'm gonna break something.

depending on what dials u have bought u may not need to remove the needles...
I removed the needles using a butter knife to lever them up....
there is a nack to gettin them off and once you have done one the rest will come off easier.
if u are removing the fuel guage make a note of where it was as if u put it back on in the wrong place it wont go back to the correct position (which happened to me and now my guage is out by about 1/4 - 1/8 of a tank)

tip for replacing the speedo needle is to put the main dash back into the two connector at the back to give power but leave the clear front off.turn the ignition on but don't start the engine.place the needle just below the rest pin and gentle push onto the centre pin then lift over rest pin,this will get the speedo readin correctly.

it is fairly easy to fit the dials even if u have to remove the needles.

Did you have to cut the old dials as they mention, or is there some way to remove them without cutting - i.e. in case you ever wanted to put them back.

If you buy the slip on dials then you HAVE to cut the old dials off. This is because the central hole in the dial is smaller in diameter than the needle cup. But I'm not sure what happens if you were to remove the whole needle assembly.

As for the fuel gauge problem..... just fill her up to maximum before you change over the needles. That way you won't have to remember where the needle was at.

hi all

replaced mine over christmas

what i did was cut around the cup with a sharp art knife (olfa or stanley) and then slipped them off the same way you slip the new ones on

and then all you have to do is cut the little bit left in the middle out

this means you can also put the black dials back in if you want

I don't recommend pulling the needles off... I did, and mine still aren't right, and I broke one as well
