Stepper Motors for $90 on Ebay

Post by umm »

Just Lettin everyone know that you can get new genuine mitsubishi stepper motors on ebay for $90 + $5 postage.

From http://stores.ebay.com.au/Cyberspace-Auto-Parts

The stores closed at the moment but. re-opens 19/8/07

They are the MD614368 MD628051 ones meant for 4cylinders. They don't say they'll fit an fto but i got one and it works.

I don't have any connection with them i just thought it was a really good price compared to gettin a new one from mitsubishi or a reconditioned or secondhand one fron NZ.

I bought one of these when mine died from the eBay guy. Bolted it on and it works a treat. Highly recommended. :D

yeah its a fairly common problem, it was replaced on my car just before I bought it & I might need a new one again soon (after 2 years)

I replaced mine last year, with a stepper motor out of a magna (cant remember the model). The only a small differencewas the plastic plunger piece was a different length, so I swapped it from mine. Was the coils that were stuffed anyway. Has worked a treat since, and only cost me $50, but if you can get a straight swap NEW one for $90, I would...

Is it the MD614368-MD628051
or..
the MD614380-MD628053 that interchange..seems to be some conflicting info on it.
Top one is 4cyl., other is 3.0 v6.
Anyone measured the coil resistance?

Original part number is E9T15296.

BTW in case anyone is interested or having issues..
When you do a re-set on the ECU it sets the stepper motor to default settings, so if you (someone) has played around with the air by-pass screw setting, then it may appear that the IACS is not working.
I do it this way...disconnect the IACS plug, warm the engine up & run it for at least 20 mins...adjust the idle speed to specs (~850) switch off & re-connect the plug to the IACS.

The IACS is there for enrichment only, not to continually adjust an out of adjustment idle setting..I think that's why they fail prematurely.

I dont know a hell of a lot about these but have you reset the ECU?
