Post by Jono »

Hi Guys,

Just for your benefit just going to do a comparo for the Yoko Es100 vs Bstone GIII vs Mich Pilot Preceda PP2.

Running size 215/45/17, roughly -1.2 for street , and -3.0 for track

ES100
- $270, 30,000 kms
Pros'
- Ultimate dry grip compound out of the group
- Slightly firmer construction than GIII
- Grip stays consistant throughout tyre life
Cons
- Wet grip is good, but not as good as the GIII
- Can get noisy even when new

GIII
- $250, 38,000 kms
Pros'
- Comfortable tyre in terms of handing bumps and rough roads
- Long Life
- Wet Grip is vgood and consistant, better than the es100
Cons
- Grip deterioates fast after 60% wear
- Can get very noisy during last 20% of wear, worse than es100's

PP2
- $270, so far 1000kms, no wet days yet
Pros'
- Best Construction, Sidewall does not flex that much
- Rides rough roads very well
- Will have longest life i suspect as it has a harder compound
- The most quietist tyre out of the 3 by far
Cons
- Dry compound not as sticky as ES100
- Wont be able to rotate this tyre properly due to its pattern

Conclusion.
Get PP2 for consistant Handling and low noise
Get Es100 for Outright dry Grip
Get GIII, Not sure why? but it is a decent tyre.
