But what happen when you decided to have a wash at your engine bay? Ballast general around 10000 volts during start up, think about what happen to those 10000 volts meet water or moisture.

Why this will affect luxury cars? Because most luxury car have auto headlights and self adjust system. Which mean it will turn on by itself if the sensor doesn’t pick up enough surrounding lights.
So if you drive under a bridge that is at least have a shadow area of 15-20 meter, the lights will turn on, and then off after you exit the shadow area. If your daily driving involves series of bridges like that, your HID will be gone with in 6mths.![]()
Lots of people aren't aware of this 15mins rules and like to show off to their mate with their newly installed HID, turning it on then off, then on and then off again, and next thing you know, bulbs is gone within few months.
They simply just twist out and then unplug the globe.
.: Step 2 - Testing if they actually work
Plug in the matching plug from the ballast (huge box thing) into where the standard globe went and plug in the HID light bulb into the ballast, switch on your headlights to see if the lights work.
.: Step 3 - Mounting the Ballast
Mounting it is up to you, keep it mind it needs to be somewhere that is dry to prevent the ballast from getting wet. I chose to mount it where it could not be seen in the engine bay, the engine bay is crowded enough. I removed my front bar and installed it behind the front bar rheo, picked below. There is a few places you could mount it, such as next to your horn or under your headlights, just a couple of suggestions.

.: Step 4 - Running the Wires
Run the wires from the ballast (ballast power and bulb power) up to globe, theres a small gap next to the headlight which brings the plugs right next to the bulb.
