Where can i get a STRUT BRACE from??

Post by maggsy »

does anyone know where i can pick up an fto strut brace? :?

i went to repco and they dont stock any for fto's. iv'e heard that a lancer one might fit but i'm not sure if this is correct can someone please confirm.

i'd rather buy it from a shop and not from the net (Ebay, etc.) if possible, unless we get a group buy on them or something.

Whiteline is one of the best brands available ... I'm not sure if Autobarn sells Whiteline gear (I think they might) www.whiteline.com.au
The part numbers you will need are;
KSB578A - Front Strut Brace @ $175 Approx
KSB526 - Rear Strut Brace @ $175 Approx

With Whitelines they're the same as a CE Lancer strut brace (I think some Evo's, Mirage, and a few other Lancer models) not sure if this is true for other brands, but I'd assume they'd be the same whichever brand you went for..

You could also try looking into Cusco braces

www.rpw.com.au - Reseller for Whiteline strut braces
as Bennoz mentioned - Unique Auto Sports ..
You could also try calling some FTO wreckers, you might get lucky & find that they have one in stock... see www.completefto.com for a list of FTO Wreckers, Parts Dealers & workshops in your state.

i dont know, but i'm sure there would be, i never bothered looking into it cos i didnt need it.

but as far as i remember, the strut brace pushes up at the jets, so u can either drill/dint your brand new strut brace, or look for some slim jet thingos (i think it was covered on the forum a while ago, have a search for it i guess :) )

Keep in mind, if you have ABS, then standard CE strut won't fit.

I never had a problem with my stock wipper jet when i had mine.

yeh i have no ABS in my car coz its a 94 model.

my friend says that he can get me strut braces for top front and both top and bottom for the rear all costing about 100 each but not sure about the brand.

also just wondering if second hand ones in good condition are safe to buy.

According to the Unique Auto Sports website the strut brace will not fit a MIVEC FTO.

Has anyone ever fitted one to a MIVEC FTO as i would really like a front strut brace on my car.
