Dear Guys,
i will need to replace my Springs within this or next week, there are some questions. I'm using 17" rims.
REARS:
My current Rear is too Low, it has been this while since i bought the car and the tyre sides has been rubbed. I am also getting a rough and SOLID rock ride. I hope to get a Smooth and comfortable ride. Not necessary a lowered look as high is not very impt, probably abt 2cm of free space between the tyres and the body panal part.
Front:
My front are too high! I believe its at least 3 - 4cm there. Look so weird. i can hear Squicks form both sides when i pass through speed bumps. Not sure if its the Springs wearing out. I jus hope to get a Similar Quiet, smooth and comfortable ride. Maybe 2cm freeplay as well.
1) Which Springs should i get? KINGS or Whiteline? How many types are there? My budget is abt $200 per pair.
2) Very imptly, from the preference i mentioned above, which part number should i get? I am worried that the hight might be too Weird again.
3) Anyone had tried this before? or experienced before? I was told by a machanic from Pedders that if i want a normal hight one, jus go for the standard one. But i did a research at Kings suspensions website, there seems to be TOO many part nnumbers, getting me confused. Thats why I hope someone can shine me a light.
4) I did search on our FTO forum,, and cant really find anyone who had mentioned the part numbers for Springs. Or should i really jus choose a standard one? I called KINGS today and was told that there are few ranges (Std, Lowered, Super lowered etc) So which onces should i choose?
I hope you guys can help!
Cheers!
Jacky

Hi Jacky,
I have lowered King Springs in my FTO (I have standard 16inch wheels) and have no problems what so ever, they are better than the standard worn springs. I purchased them with a lot of other suspension gear and they were about $300 not taking into account the cost of fitting.
According to www.kingsprings.com.au part numbers required are KMFL-93 and KCRL-46.
IMHO there is bugger all difference between Whiteline and King Springs, I believe they are of the same spec and similar price.
You will need to do a lot more than replace the springs to stop squeaks.
The squeaks could be coming from anywhere, the usual suspects are shocks, swaybar droplinks, strut tops or possibly one of the suspension bushes in the front end.
Have a look at http://www.ftoaustralia.com/modules.php ... pic&t=5944 as a good starting point.
Finally............don't ever go to Pedders!, suggest you mention where you are located and someone local may mention a place that they can recommend instead.
Cheers
