Seatbelt retracting problem

Post by alku83 »

My drivers seatbelt has never worked quite properly, when you pull it out to put it on, it doesnt wind back mcuh - so when you take the belt off, it just sits there. Is this something I can easily fix, or would I be better off just getting one from all the wrecks that are appearing these days?

unless u r familiar with a seatbelt and all its springs id just get a replacement, they are relativly easy to fix if they arent just broken but they are a pain in the arse!

yeah you can fix them by winding the coil spring in them around a few more times. i doubt its legal to tamper with them though, the covers you need to take off says do not remove on it and if your not careful it'll spring out and you'll end up with a big ball of steel that you need to wind back up again. I done both of mine the other day. i let the first one spring out and spent half an hour coiling it back up
