Door seals and FTO light up side steps

Post by Cbrown1986 »

Hi,

I've decided to fix my car..

For the time being i'm after new or 2nd hand door seals. The little bit of rubber that goes around where the door closes.

I also need the light up fto side steps. Preferably new ones.

Can anyone help me?

i remember reading somewhere that the light up fto door plates were only available as an optional extra from the factory, i beleive that you can get new ones, but not sure where from, might be best to email or call mitsubishi to find out...

although, i'm sure that you could shine them up to look like new - I will be doing it to mine soon, possibly over the weekend if i get time... I will let you know how it goes, just planning to get some metal polish and polish the crap out of it, and then buff the plastic parts, and maybe re-do the plastic trim that goes around the edge of the metal, cause its ripped off..

This is probably a really stupid question  , but what is the use of those door seals? As i've seen heaps of other fto's with out em, so if they're so useful why would people take them off?

There is the bit of rubber the window closes on and then there is the bit of rubber that is stuck to the metal bit surrounding the window. Different bits of rubber. But then the bit I mentioned still may not be the one that he is after.

It's the bit where the window closes on.

The problem is a while ago someone tried breaking into my car and used a knife to cut the rubber..
