oh and dont drive on it! even though its just a trailer wheel it could still cause some major damage if it goes pop at 50k

Bearing are generic. I would advise against using a second hand one.

Try places like CBC Bearings in Artarmon (they are in the whitepages) and take your old bearing down so it can be matched with a new one.

sorry for dragging up an old thread but I've also been told the rears can't be pressed out.

The workshop that has been looking at this for me swears you can't press it out cause you can't even get to the bearing as the hub is built around it?

Am I correct in thinking with my car having ABS I should use the MR316500 or MR131217

Really don't want to fork out $500 for a new bearing so Please HELP

I think I got rid of my last decent 2nd hand one this week, but I guess I can have another look. I know this is little solice, but I could get a new one for less than that (not heaps though now the dollar has dropped so far)

More after someone to confirm for me that the bearings can be removed and re-pressed? As in has anyone actaully done this? If so has your car got ABS, I'm sure this shouldn't effect it but I'm thinking that could be the source of the problem.

Seeing a mechanic tomorrow about another noise anyway so hopefully he might be able to sort this for me as well if the bearing can be changed and not the whole hub.

i've got a brand new genuine hub and bearing that ill let go for $150

Could someone with CAPS please tell me what is the correct part number for my car please. Chassis # is DE3A0201521.

I had one today for a little over that price but it was the wrong one, something about the 5 holes (not the stud holes the other ones) not being countersunk for the ABS. The guy lost me there cause I thought the ABS sensor stuck out the middle of the hub assembly but anyway.


Tip for anyone if we can sort this, Bursons has a supplier than can supply FTO rear wheel hubs for under $200, just it was the wrong one for mine and the supplier reckons there was only ever one for FTO's. hmm sure, thanks to dstocks I know at least that isn't true. Thanks Mate

The right one for yours is MR316500 mate. Looking at caps, the difference seems to have nothing to do with ABS, and more to do with Pre/Post facelift models. Yours must be 97 or later as it uses the later model hub. Cant tell you what the difference is. They may even be interchangeable.

Oh and tell the Bursons guy hes dreamin......

thanks dstocks, just confirming through the workshop if there is much difference between the 2. Come to think of it I think the one from Bursons I had yesterday was even different to the one Jonowong has.

Another word of warning...the bursons one is nothing like the MR131217 one that Jonowong fitted to his car in his DIY, seems it won't even fit any FTO.

For everyone, see the 4 countersunk holes on this one, seems like a ABS or at least face lift thing. This means the MR131217 and MR316500 are not interchangable.
