Changing Front Grill

So . . .The mesh grill on the front , or "the mouth" as i like to call it ... IM sure you know what im talking about ... Mines all rusted up , and id like to know how to change them , and where to buy extra mesh from ? ..

Anyone help ?

thanks guys ..

Forgive me for being a n00b aswell , but is taking my front bar off much of a task ? ... I rarely take outer parts of my cars apart .. or should i just buy it and keep it for next time i take it in for a service .. get them to do it ..

That guide looks good , all the way up until it mentioned drilling new holes in my front guard .. which i think id be worried about ..

Was pretty easy to do. Would be a good job for getting used to this sorta thing. Bit of rolling around under the car. Dirty Hands. There's not that much you can really do wrong... Just don't scratch the paintwork.

You could always be a slack-ass like me... I just kept the mesh in one piece to cover the top and bottom holes. I bent the bottom of the mesh in along the bottom vents by about 45 degrees (just make sure the mesh is held flat over the holes while you bend it). There is a plastic shroud that sits between the front bar and the radiator which sandwiches it in there. There is a little bit of movement on the outside vents, but I did mine 4 months ago and it's been fine.

That stainless steel mesh is a good idea. Looks classy on cars. I got the autobahn special aluminium mesh in mine too, but it's got 1 bent louver (didn't notice it till I finished putting the mesh in, box had a hole punched into it I didn't notice when I bought it

) Nobody else seems to notice, but it drives me nuts. I thought stainless would be $, but if it's not much more than aluminium, I might just change it over...

go to a sheet metal workshop and get an off cut off them for 5 bucks....

You only need to do the holes if you want mesh on the lower section (which doesnt normall have mesh on it). Really easy to do, just takes a little time. I must have takes the front bar off about 5 times now. Can get it off in about 15 minutes now.

can anyone tell me the measurements of the mesh Id need to get for the mouth part ? ... ie the standard grill ... save me having to remove the bumper to measure it my self ..

Measure the grille(s) from the outside and add 3cm on each side + top and bottom to be safe
