I paid about $9300 for my conversion which included:
New HD Daiken clutch
New belts, water pump, reco gearbox with Version R LSD, FTO brakes all round, FTO rear swaybar, instrument cluster, climate control, 2.5" mandrel exhaust, engineers cert, and courtesy car, Cyborg black dash
-500 if no seats
-400 if no LSD
-100 for the dash
A few other things I'd say but I forgot now
Done in sydney though, don't know about Victoria

Kittz, whereabouts are you? I'd suggest you search down all the bits you need on this site. Much cheaper than wreckers. And you'd be surprised the amount of fto stuff people on this site have.
I can do most of this this swap for you, probably about 90 % if not running
Then go and get it all checked over by a qualified mechanic if you want to.. I'll do it for a lot less than a workshop will
Do it man, drive it hard, it ain't slow.. 200 kg lighter than fto...

I get different readings at different scales
Minimum I got was about 1080kg with me in it but no interior besides drivers seat and no boot at all
And max I got was 1120 without me but full interior etc
Regadless, I have raced a fair share of FTO's and the difference I put on them does seem like 150-200kg or so

Must be a beast of a Lancer. The caprice does low 14's.spetz wrote:It wasn't as fast as I expected but yeah FTO's are a joke to race
Friends MIVEC lancer which had some minor work done was even with a 5.7L Caprice
They were definately not happy when I asked them just to be a dickhead whether it was an 8 or a 6... they quitely said "V8..."
So this lancer can keep up with a WRX??

Yeah the lancer did low 14s
It was fairly similar to R34 GTT's and TT GTO's and stuff as well
Some rexes would lose some would cane it though
Anything under 5+ litres with no boost had no chance!
It's that blue one that did 14.2 at WSID. My housemate bought it. And did some more mods to it so I would say it would be closer to a high 13 sec Lancer

14.3 @ 94mph
2.145 60"
14.3 is done on fat 225 street tyres and fairly gutted interior. This car is capable of getting into high 13's with semi-slicks tyres and more weight reduction.
With ECU + tuning, low 13 to mid 13's is achievable. But that's nothing new this day seeing Honda dipping into 12's now a days. I even have a friend with stock bottom end B16 on an EG Civic hatch clocked 13.5 (Dynoed to 119kwatw) - now dats fast.

I think the lancer is over 1100 kg well at least a 96 model, coz I had a mate with one and used to race it with my 93 liberty which is about 1200kg and I used to beat it and my literty doesn't make much more power than the lancer.
I recon that those times are archievable coz I have seen a lancer pull a low 14 before and I think it was making about 130kw at the wheels but it was a turbo.

The thing with turbo/non turbo isn't the power rating, it's the torque. My old GPX made 111 kw atw but couldn't get close to a rex that made 94kw atw. Why? Because of the torque the turbo provided...It's all about the acceleration and the weight.bigpitty1 wrote:I think the lancer is over 1100 kg well at least a 96 model, coz I had a mate with one and used to race it with my 93 liberty which is about 1200kg and I used to beat it and my literty doesn't make much more power than the lancer.

I know a turbo engine will make more torque as the turbo puts more air into the engine just like with the old school V8's, the one with the bigger capacity had more torque as it could get more air in, well thats how I look at it.FTEvolution wrote:The thing with turbo/non turbo isn't the power rating, it's the torque. my liberty is a non-turbo and makes 100kw as stated in the hand book, and my mates lancer was pretty much stock with only a K&N and exhaust.

When boosted from 1 bar to 1.3 bar my power (with my current turbo) the power goes up about 10rkwkw but my torque goes up about 60nm atw.
My car is tuned only for about 270rwkw now....but its making about 480nm at 5000rpm which was better than before which was about 280 at the same rpm with stock stuff.
I have been debating this on the SAU forum..power is nothing without torque...
Some with basically the same engines/cars are pulling 230kw with cheap mods and say I wasted my money...but they are only getting around 320nm atw.
I'm getting close to 500....u tell me which one cains at the lights...
