payaya wrote:whats with the low hp at the wheels? 85KW at the wheels equates to around a 40% loss through the drivetrain!
Are these results plotted in shootout mode?
It was like at the auto saloon some FTO i heard got 60 KW at the wheels!
I think might hope onto a reliable dyno, i think i might go to Herrod in thomastown and see what KW reading i get.
all my dyno's are done on a brand new Dyno Dynamics dyno in shootout mode 6. you do get variances for temperature (ambient and internal) and humidity, barometer (how dense the air is on a given day). Fuel can even determine it (i.e. a bad batch of fuel).
60 however is way way below what id expect to see except from the unlucky ones out there with the COLT engines in their fto's.
40% power loss through a tip box is to expected.

Steven,
Where are we up to with getting the exhaust mod, I will be fitting it myself and would look at picking it up myself if possible will also need two new gaskets, I believe that UAS have them.
Am keen to see the performance after fitting.

i'm pretty sure you're gonna need a jig welder (or whatever it's called nowadays) of some sort for the job... Don't think it's a simple matter of screwing bolts between the connecting pipes

when they tested the exhaust on my car, they just bolted off the old, and bolted on the new

fto12345,
I,m fitting my system this Saturday, I would suggest spraying some lubricant on the attachment nuts a few days before you do the job, I use a lubricant called mouse milk, this is a really good fluid that helps release rusted nuts and bolts.
If you are interested you are welcome to drop on over to my place (depends where you are in Sydney) and fit your system, I have a good selection of tools and equipment, ( I am an aircaft engineer with many years of messing with cars)

Hello airbornespanner,
I live near eastwood.
where abouts are you?
If you are not too far, I just might take that offer if you don't mind.
Also, i would be wondering if you would be doing it not too late in the day as I would love to get this out of the way and maybe even go for a drive.
I also have a under car brace that I want to put on as well...this is just a matter of undoing the bolts and put it on. Once the exhaust is on it shouldn't take too long for this one.
Could you let me know where abouts you are and when you are planing on doing this please? probably the PM might be a good idea? Just a suggestion...
Thank you,

I live in Menai in the south, If you are still interested I will give you my address by PM.
I have a set of ramps and safety stands so you could also put the brace on.

it will take the best part of an hour for your engine to cool down (with bonnet open) so i recommend doing airborne's car first as his will be cool

Hello,
You wouldn't have any spare gaskets would you?
I don't know what kind of condition my gaskets would be...
What time do you finish work tomorrow night?
Would it be a bad idea to work on it tomorrow night?
That way you don't have to wake up early just for me...
Otherwise, it's fine by me to start early on saturday..
Please let me know what you prefer...I would like to match you with your preferences.
Thank you,
