i have been waiting about 4 months now for a aluminium flywheel to arrive from the USA and when that arrives i will be putting a new clutch in that i got awhile back. Once the clutch is sorted properly then will slip some slicks on it and see what it can do.
Got a few parts waiting to go on but can't tune it properly at the moment as can't keep the load on. The clutch slips once it gets into the high 300s

It is hardly worth going to the track yet for an extra 8/100s of a second
I dont think mine will be 1/4 miling again until TOTBIV its going to be off the road for a new ECU, cams and poly engine mounts.

well just got a phone call seems my flywheel has arrived.
Now just to cross my fingers and pray it is the right one will find out tomorrow when i go pick it up.
12s shouldn't be a problem next time i go down the track considering how it was tuned up top last time.
with a decent tune in it up top and slicks on i would be expecting terminal speeds well past 120 MPH, last time it didn't hook up till 4th gear and pulled low 13s and 115 and 116 MPH terminal speed and it was also detonating up top. Thank @#*# I ceramic coated the combustion chamber and pistons and used forged internals.
If this clutch don't work i will be getting those contact details from you Jeff
Hey Richard are you going to do some dyno runs before and after the cams.

Thanks Guys,
Having huge amounts of fun.
Still getting used to the car, but the other night claimed a Clubsport by a long way.
The next test & tune at Willowbank is the 22/6, so Danny I`ll try to put an Aussie back on top.
Still having some minor problems with the car. A bad steering fluid leak, and some dodgy wiring. I took it to RACQ for a test, and they declared it unroadworthy, and the engine transplant to be of poor quality. So I`ll be having a few words to the workshop.
But still having fun.
Jeff
P.S. Sorry don`t have a video camera.

Car is back and running well.
I`m finally getting used to the torque steer and some of the power.
Come the 22/5 and I`ll do my best to reinstate an aussie to the top of the 1/4 mile.
I have finally got my scanner back on line so I have updated the dyno on the website.
www.uq.net.au/whocares/FTO.html
For all those oldies 274 kw = 365 hp.
As you can see from the graph it is leaning out quite a lot. Hopefully a better tune will fix this, and maybe some more power. This was done at 14psi, I`m not game to take it any higher with that air/fuel ratio. Infact I am only driving it at 7 psi which gives 220kw or 293 hp. This scares me.

Wasn`t planning to, I hope I can feel the difference. The rolling road places round me have a problem strapping it down properly to get accurate readingsdannyboyau wrote:Hey Richard are you going to do some dyno runs before and after the cams.

Bloody rain.
Ever since I have had my car back, there has been rain, just enough to keep postponing the drags.
I still haven`t had a chance to take it down the 1/4 mile yet.
Had fun doing a few laps of Darlington park though. Except for an overheating problem.
Danny do you have problems with overheating? How do you get the heat out from under the bonnet?
It looks as though I will have to get some bonnet vents.

I was a bit embarresed to post my latest.
Last Wed night lined up at Willowbank.
Good take off but a little bumpy, went for second and no second gear.
The shuddering has either moved or broken the mounting braket for the selectors on the manuel box. So now I have 1st, 3rd and 5th only. Took it to a gearbox place but they couldn`t get to it due to the turbo sitting on top of the gearbox. I also threw my power steering/ alternator belt going to the gearbox place. So my baby has been sitting in front of my house with a dead flat battery whilst I wait for my mechanic to get back from holidays.
Booked in next week for a full service etc.
So another couple of weeks before I can put an Aussie back on top of the 1/4 mile.

A similar thing happened to me, I went to change to second gear, but no second, third, forth or fifth!!! your luck you had the others!!! I had to witness the sorry sight of my baby on the back of a tow truck!!!!
the part number for the selector cable mount was one number off being the same as a lancers mount. but even if i tried the lancer part it was still Ex Japan!!! so my mechanic made me one up! he said that the origional mount was rubber, and the new one he made up for me was a bolt. do you think that mitsu had a rubber mount for a reason??? maybe to make sure the mounts were the weakest link so no damage would be done to the gearbox! and now that mine is metal im a bit concerned that I mite smash my gearbox, instead of something which was only $290 to fix!!!!!! what do you guys think????
