has anyone got unichip or powerchip and can tesify how much imrpovements they got at the dyno?
the manual for the sacf2 has the ecu pin outs for the fto.

back to the dyno results, is it true to say that fto is so highly tuned allready, theres not much a piggy back system can do.

as you can see on my dynograph, the tuned AFC only gave me just over 1kw increase, but i was told this was due to the design of the early-gen device... later models are more flexible so you can tune it at specific RPMs, whereas my unit is so old it's only tunable for the entire revband in general... so yeah, i wouldn't be surprised to see an extra 5-10hp hiding in there somewhere...

obviously the more mods done to the car (ie: cams, compression etc), the more you can gain from the piggyback modules...

well thats interesting information, since apexi in japan said it was not made for fto...

I think that Apex and Apexi are actally two different companies aren't they? Apex being the Japanese branch while APexi is actually the American branch. :?:

No they are the same, in fact they have always been Apex'i (Apex Integration). I suppose for simplicity sake everone just call it 'Apex'...LoL

However there is separate suspension tuning company called APEX from Europe as well... bah!

Interesting! I know you guys use different units of measure than us but your torque curve (presuming that's what "thrust" is?) seems a lot flatter than our readouts!

Here's mine, orange line is torque, blue line is bhp @ the wheels:

You'll notice I dont have any dip in power / torque when the Mivec kicks in - I believe (comparing with other owners graphs over here) this is purely down to the uprated downpipes I have as I can actually feel an increase in power when the Mivec kicks in now!

i believe it's the piping that carries the gas which has been dumped from the exhaust ports... ;)

Sorry for the slow reply (time differences and all that).
The down pipes I think are also called the front pipes?
Basically the pipes that go between the headers/extractors/manifolds & the cat.
The ones I got were a custom job here in the UK but they are a similar design to the ones I have seen a group buy on this site. I have a picture of the almost finished piping here:

Compared to the original:

Hope that helps.

hmmm.. looking at your dynochart HS, i still can't figure out what the actual HP reading is at the wheels... LoL :? i'm guessing around 125 to 130hp-ish??

It was 127.5 bhp @ the wheel & 192 estimated @ the flywheel - everybody's figures on the day were low but my @ the wheel figure was amongst the lowest of the manual V6's, however my torque figure (138 lb/ft) was one of the highest.
The following week I ran a 1/4 mile in 14.9 secs, I only know of 1 other person to get into the 14's without NOS/turbo etc. so I'm very happy with it. :D

I think all I took away from the dyno day in honesty was that my torque/power curves never dipped when the Mivec kicked in and that all was well regarding fuelling etc. - I take the actual figures with a pinch of salt.

hmmm... ignoring dyno differences aside, that would equate to about 94-95kw-ish at the wheels...

just out of interest, what other performance mods have you got on your car apart from the front pipe?

did you strip the interior/ICE on tha track as well? and what rubber were you running? High 14s are mighty impressive in my book... :D
