Yeah, I reckon it's the motorkhana work that tears the RH leg support in half. You keep your right knee pressed against the door, and it simply destroys the foam.
I gave a couple of reupholstery places a ring, and they reckon it would cost no more than $150 to $200 a seat to repair. But I'll drop in on one, let them inspect it, and get a proper quote to do both front seats (and maybe the rear so it matches).
I'll let you know.
Are you coming along next Sunday? We want a decent number of FTOs, and haven't got enough yet!

Danny,
I am so sorry to hear about the driveshafts. But glad to hear you got the new ones in already.
That much torque is a worry. I am starting to get scared.
What is your plan? I gather these are the normal driveshafts you have put in, so won`t these go just as quick? I gather you must be looking arround for stronger shafts, Let me know if you find some of another car that is stronger but will fit.

i will be getting some made from chrome molly, they wont be cheap but will be going in later, I will keep using the mitsi ones for now and use them as a fuse in the drive line. It is much easier and cheaper to replace driveshafts than gearboxes.
I got 18 months from the last set.
I will be happy if i can get a few months from this set.
There has been a few searches done on the caps program to see if there are any matching vechiles that use the same drive shafts as us, but no luck.
When i am about to get the good ones made ( in the next couple of months ) i will let you know.
Would you be interested in a set ?
If there is anyone else out there who is going to be putting large amounts of power through the FTO drive line, you can also get a set if you let me know in time. It should help lower the price. Please dont wait to long as i might have to get them made in the USA, I am hoping i can find someone in Perth who can do them at a reasonable cost. Once made they will be shotpeened and cryo treated.

Jeff will need you to get your chassis number and hopefully someone with the Caps program will check to see what the part numbers are for your drive shafts, hopefully they will be the same as mine and when i get mine done will order another set, currently looking into getting them done by a US firm
http://www.driveshaftshop.com/
will contact them and see what the price will be like.
will also be investigating using differant ( bigger CV joints ) CV's so that can make a custom drive shaft of a larger diameter.
for those in WA i will taking it for a spin down the motoplex tomorrow night, hopefully will get a couple of passes in with out it snapping any drive shafts. I will be taking it easy off the line this time. no launching

Jeff i think this is what we would be looking at using, it includes stronger inner and outer CV's, shafts and also new hubs.
Not cheap at $1600 USD plus taxes and shipping

$2500 Aus,
I think I`ll hold off for the moment and see how yours go Danny.
I`m hoping with the tip box that my driveshafts may last, but we will soon see.
Keep us posted if these are the right ones, how easy they were to fit, etc.
Thanks
Jeff

well had a go again last night and didnt snap any drive shafts, richard came down with his camera and took some pics so hopefully they will be up soon on the west australian fto website.
well having problems with traction in first second and third, best that i could manage was a 13.203 @ 115 miles an hour, will be looking into getting a pair of slicks for the next try.

here is the link again
http://photos.yahoo.com/dannyboyau
and Jeff i might be able to get some drive shafts made here for around 300 AUD each ( it is only the drive shafts no CV's ), looking into it as i will get one set made as a spare while i get the good ones made in the USA
taking it down the strip again tonight and hopefully wont break anything, not expecting any major improvement till i get some slicks, they are on order and will arive hopefully in a couple of weeks

well could be a few weeks before it hits the strip again seems there is a clutch or gearbox problem, will be investigating shortly.

err... possibly not. Now you're on the boards, I've been shunted from 9th to 10th. One more speed freak up there and it's goodbye from me!!
I'd have to go down to the 'plex and go faster again, hehe.

Quick update.
Almost finished. They were just finishing off the intake manifold yesterday.
They are hoping to start it by the end of the week.
But once again a small delay. Microtech sent up a LT12 comp not the LTX12, so they are waiting for that to arrive.
Latest guesstamate is mid next week it will be finished.
Yaaaaaaaaaahhhoooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
How I have missed my baby.
I am waiting with baited breath.
I took some new photos so later today I will upgrade the website.
