mi best mate has a N15S2 SSS with K&N filter and cat-back Hi-tech exhaust and we have probably taken on each other at least 10 times and once all the way up to the 180 speed limiter.
I can say that any tip owner will have lots of trouble keeping up as their launch is good and shifting through 2 3rd will see them slowly inching away... after that theres no movement but by then, you've already hit the limiter
the only way a tip will win is if the SSS misses a gear
but i reckon a manual will have a good chance against em...
interesting how 105KW VS 147KW isn't that much difference...
there's been a lot of baggin bout the fto especially in the "baggin post"
my car is tip gpx i got a sports 2.5inch exhaust but i was told i got a resonator still sounds loud though and also itg air pod
it sometimes feels very sluggish and not fast or any faster than most other cars ??? is there any other cheap options to make it more responsive? cause it doesnt seem to have that pulling effect when you hit the pedal
and also when i accelreate hard i dont feel much g force pushing me against the chair i this normal? cause i was on my frends stock wrx i get push back against the seat which i like to feel feels like its really strong
that shove in the back G-force experience is something only a turbo can give you because of its sudden urge when boost kicks in. so really, you cannot compare WRXs to FTOs - doing so is like comparing apples to oranges!
unfortunately, there is only so much you can do to a tip box unless you are willing to spend big bucks on it for a higher stall, stronger gear sets etc etc... until then, the response you get from the auto is not going to be as sharp as the manual, but as a daily hack it does its job relatively well enough - but don't expect too much from them if the motor is in NA trim.
that lack of 'pulling effect' is the loss of hp/torque through the driveline due to the auto gearbox alone... auto gearboxes eat power in similar ways to the aircon, that is why it feels sluggish.

yeah SSSs go hard, and the 147kw isn't realistic with ozzy fuel i would imagine...
A Mamau lGPX should definitly beat manual and auto supras and sss's, I have completly left a manual and auto supra, and a manual sss. Though im not sure about tips

i doubt aussie fuel makes that much of a difference in FTOs, if anything at all.
There are other factors to consider as well, not just 105KW vs 147KW. You got gearing, torque and power at earlier or later rpm etc.
if your are going to get that keen, might as well get a new gearbox with the ratio worked to reach peak speed on red line in last gear! afterall, no point getting to speed limited point with a few thousand revs up your sleeve!
true, but people often dont take vehicle in the same class as a factor is drags. As long as they can beat you they dont care.
A wins a win. Your not going to wind down your window at the next set of lights saying "we should not be dragging as our cars are in different classes"
