OK, by clock, you mean wind the km back. I thought you meant the car reached 999999 and then had done another 35000 odd km. Thats what clock used to mean. Didnt know the digital ones were that easy to do. Guess you learn something new every day. I know they swap the clusters. I am pretty sure that has been done to mine at some stage (I have traction control, but my cluster doesnt have the light for it). Someone has probably just swapped the cluster for one that had no traction.

Yeah I know what you mean bro. I've been test driving & inspecting FTO for newbie before they brought them, and to my disguise, the low price one are usually come with lots of hidden repair which newbie wouldn't able to tell the different or it haven't been service properly

Of course there are some genuine good low price FTO out there, but they are very rare.

I always believe if you know your stuff, then you get what you paid for.

unfortunatley, you never make any money back from the mods - for some strange reason, people tend to like the illusion of buying an 'unmodified' car (haha, just all the stock bits put back on in reality ) the main difference is that it wont add to the final sale price (as much as we hoped it would), but it aids in the actual sale. felt that pain when i sold my wrexie

I didn't say the odo was 35k...the engine... The car has done 87 and I knew the guy who imported it in 2002 from Japan...who then replaced the engine...um lets say 35,000 km ago! took about 4 months from Japan. do i need to post the paper work?

I know the belts are new...the head looks ok...all the gaskets are fine and they have used the correct oil every 7-10,000km...cos most selling their cars don't even know what type of oil they should use...if that doesn't ring alarm bells...what would?

And btw it has the clock...your right.. but I wanted the Oil pressure guage "big time" lol

BTW, why did u change engine when it had only done 87k?

cos he could and felt like it...didn't cost much due to some "factors" which i wont go into.

It certainly did It was almost about to be loaded onto a truck & delivered to me then it went missing....

While you don't make money back from mods, it will raise the final price of the car when you sell it......if you find a buyer who knows what all the stuff is.

If someone told me they would offer me the same price for my car as a stock one I'd laugh at their face and tell them to f**k off.

the guy that has bought my car knows the difference of a good condition FTO and a bad condition one. I was always confident my car was one of the best ones in VIC and this showed when the 250 point test mechanic report came back with being regarded one of the best imports his seen (not just FTO).
Yes u can buy FTO's for like $10K but yr gonna have heaps of things wrong with it and an engine that is about to cough and die

look in the cars for sale section. u can see other details about it. I would of been offended if the new owner would have offered anything under $13K. But obviously his seen a few already and knows the value of my ex car.

You apparently have one of the best condition FTO's yet it took a long time to sell and to sell it you had to drop the price to around $13K

I can't believe how much the price of the FTO has dropped in just the last 12 months.

I hope that VicRoads doesn't issue every FTO with those indicator road-worthiness issues, otherwise the price will drop even further and you won't be able to sell your car unless you've put big ungly indicators on and it's road worthy

Yeah but one thing u didn't know is that the same buyer was willing to pay for another good condition FTO for around $18-19k. But the selling change his mind.

Hahhahahah well Gav, i have to say you one of those who actually really do their reseach before you buy. I'm so glad that Mil's FTO had gone to the right person, as i know you will look after it just like Mil if not better.

So I should expect to see you at the next cruise hey? Will you have all those mod done by then?
