I doubt you can hear much more at idol. The main differnce between this pipe and your old one is a less restricted flow...I assume you already had a pod filter.

damn its pretty cheep....I got my UAS kit a while back and it cost $500 for the lot...

Although I'm happy with the UAS design and their boxing...still for anyone looking for a CAI under $200 this is the go for sure..!!

in that case at idol you may notice a "sucking noise" but nothing special...with the new CAI it will really make a difference at 3k+ and boy it sounds sweet!!!

the only reason i didn't get the one from UAS is it's not a alu pipe :(

An alu pipe would heat up just as much as a rubber pipe.

If you wanted truely low temps than CF or some other sought of heat resistant metal would be best.

yeh but i can't find a CF one :?

Ok i had a little "test" run tonight, the sound of MIVEC kick in is louder then before, before that, it sound the same as the stock pipe.

I won't know "on the road different until this Sunday, where i have a chance to "stretch it legsâ€

not that I really care anymore but the UAS pipe is nice and thick...if your worried wrap it with heat resistant material.

Funny thing is ppl talk about that and then leave their pod exposed in the bay with no heat protection...hence there is no point worring about the pipe worry about keeping the air at the intake as cool as possible...FTO338 has done something rather neat ...I like it and will do the same eventually...

the standard pipe is pretty restrictive for air as well as u'll be sucking in a lot of hot air from the pod filter.change the standard pipe as well as box your pod and get a cai made up feeding cold air from the front bar. u'll notice improvements in your performance.

Hey guys,

Just wondering, will i need a breather filter or anything with this setup?

Looking at kev's pics, it looks like it comes with the breather piping.

For those of you reeeally serious about getting maximum cold air to your pod should look at a "hood scoop" style bonnet opening directly above the pod filter. I don't have my car at the moment but if you lifted the hood up and checked for where the pod sits directly below it, it should be in the clear and you wouldn't have to cut the skeleton.

One of the guys in the UK has done it, doesn't look too bad either.

An alternative is to have a hole cut in the top of your bumper bar and run a tubing from their into your filter area (which should be somewhat boxed anyway) and have air fed in that way.

Doing the intake from the filter back is the easy bit....it's figuring out how to get cold air to the filter that's the trickiest.

I got that separately, as I want red to match, but you can ask them if they can get you one.

Thanks Kev, i just rang them and they said they would put in blue piping for the breather. Hopefully it all comes through ok...

There is only one problem I can think of, is when you driving through the rain, all the water will go into your engine bay, & your filter might suck in some moisture if not water as well.

That's why I haven't done it yet, need to figure out a way to prevent the water from getting in.

my kit with new pipe from the bumber like Kev's works like a treat...you will notice the difference in performance...if you can't you will notice the differencne in sound (that should make u think your going faster:P)
