Did you really have one Kevin?

GTST has a T3 Hitachi turbo. I wouldn't call it similar as the flanges are totally different - and there's no point comparing housing differences then.

I disagree - not really anything to do with your exhaust (which isn't 'compressed' anyway). Turbo timers allow oil to pass through the lines and cool the turbo bearings, shafts and turbo seals. If you shut down a turbocharged engine straightaway after a hard run, the hot oil will potentially 'bake' and (in a worst case scenario) seize the turbo.

Actually virtually all of them are. Only thing that basically isn't is the front bar due to the different shaped lights, front bar and bonnet.

Yes, & i can proof it, can u? I just took a series 1 apart last month, unless the one i took apart is way different to the one u saw/own, then i got nothing to say.

BTW on the oil bit for the turbo timer, i agree with you, but i don't think i'm wrong as well.

Ok my apology to you kid_dynamite, my mechanic just told me its a T28 internal & it use a T3 housing...blah blah blah. So thats why when i took it apart it looks like T28 to me.

So you are right & i'm wrong.

No worries. As I said to you, I'm not totally right in that there are just cosmetic differences between series I and II:
- different coilpack ignitor arrangements
- series II had dual airbags standard
- later model sIIs (98+) had a crank angle sensor that was similar to the NEO RB25s, and diff to earlier model sIIs & sI.
- sI turbos had a steel compressor wheel, sII nylon to spool up quicker
etc etc etc

But this isn't the forum for it, really :D
