aww i love my FTOtoo abbie
i own two cars too lol
when i bought accord i tried to trade in my FTObut they said they cant take imports
so i thought...hmm i'll sell it myself
i left it on carsales.com.au and still cant be bothered to sell it
i love my car
nahhhhh
my parents decided against me driving a stick and i didnt want an auto integra... heheheh so after much looking i've decided that the fto is the best thing for me!
thought you might like it... just remember that to register it in your state the car has to pass through the RTA and by the looks of it you wont get very far. For starters that body kit would have to be removed as i dont think you can have such sharp edges on a body kit.... you gotta think of that poor pedestrian your one day gunna run into .
i live in nsw at blacktown i got a 4 speed tip it a GR and it 91500km midnight blue with a Veilside side and rear bar and t style front lip look hot and it lowerd with 17" wheels so your interested
Yes but you can get pulled over 5 times and the cop will tell you that your sports steering wheel is illegal but he lets you off then the 6th time you get defected.
All im saying is be aware of the requirements before you do anything rather than just buy it and hope for the best.
That or just wear a really really short skirt when you go to get the car registered and bend over a lot.... haha.... sexist? yes..... true? most definately
haha no dont work for them just have a fear of them (will be bringing a car from interstate myself soon). But SA has the most military RTA of all of them so im just paranoid.
But sounds like you have caught on there wild_flower so you should be fine .
Not another FTO....
1997 GTS-T R33 turbo charged skyline, 59'000km, gun metal grey! YAY!
$15K, Picking up this arvo ! DOUBLE YAY!!!!
hehehe thanx heaps for trying to help me out guys, been looking so hard, but its not easy to find and that FTO i long for. luckily my dad's mate now works with imports and so he got me this at wholesalers price!, man, i would onli got a hatch back for around $15k! =) if anyone wants to upgrade and has an import in mind, let me noe, and i'll give u his contacts.
Congra, & good luck with it. But as Bucket said don't wrap it around anything. Its a totally different type of car, power & handling are just so much different, so take it easy on the road.

i noe what u mean! heaps more powerful, but doesnt handle as well as an fto, the corners around my place that i use to hug so well in the fto, i have to take slower in this.
and man! the interior looks and feels 10 yrs older than an fto! i was abit worried about its size, the front is a lot longer than an fto.
can u guys tell me abit about turbos? ie/ what all the parts do. things to look out for,
things that i need to maintain, how long should i set the turbo timer. etc...
GTsT comes with T28 turbo, which are similar to the SR20DET Silvia & GTR. But each model have slightly different compressor housing & exhaust housing.
As long as you look after your car well & no modifications (yeah right hehehe) then the GTsT is very easy to look after. I found the steering wheel on the GTsT are way too light, so i changed mine with a heavier one (i had one for a while)
With turbo timer, its really depends on how hard you been pushing it on each drive. For normal driving you don't need to set it more then 30sec, & on more "heavy" driving, then you should set it between 1 1/2 min to 2.
Any longer you really just wasting your fuel, & might even have the opposite effect. As the the idea of a turbo timer is to let the compressed hot air travel out of your exhaust, but if you leave it too long then the engine will build up the heat again, just like any car who been sitting at idle too long.
And also remember the series one & two parts are not interchangeable. Well most part at least.
