Hi all,
my problem still occuring.
servicing the car with SL Motorsports this weekend, so hopefully they can figure out what is wrong with it.
In the main time, I have some interesting findings, I am looking forward to see what you guys thinking.
I reset the ECU last night. (There were 13 and 14 error codes coming up before),
- Firstly, I was assuming if I have a look at the codes again straigt after reconnecting the battery, before starting the engine, I souldnt find any error codes. However, there were 13 and 14 again immediately. Is this normal?
- Secondly, I drove the car this morning, first time after resetting the ECU, it was totaly fine for about 10mins (7-8kms), then slowly started to have the reving problem again.
- Thirdly, I can almost swear that I felt the point where it started to have the reving problem. Cause, I was stopped at the lights and something happened. It almost felt like something kicked in. Same as when the air con kicks in, almost the same feeling. After that reving problem started to happen continuously.
Is any of this makes sense to anyone?
Saturday's service will include changing the oil (to Castrol Formula R Synthetic 5w-30) and front spark plugs (backs are pletinium and only done 35k kms). I will update this topic with the findings from the service.

u should also consider about changing the leads. Platinum plus can do up to 40K so i would suggest since his doing the front to also do the back as well.

ohhh, I thought normal ones plugs changes every 35k kms, and platiniums every 70k kms. I only done 35k kms with platinums, I thought they only had half life.

normal ones should be changed every 20,000 - 25,000kms and platinum should be changed aaround 35,000km - 40,000. If u have Iridium the last around 50,000km. So i highly recommend u to get the back ones changed as well.

dude, this is what I was thinking as well, however, when I called the mitsu, they told me that normal ones should be changed every 40k kms, and platinium ones at around every 100k kms.
I am confused.

mate, if u listen to those Mitsubishi dickheads than yr gonna be in a whole lot of trouble.
As i told u before my car had similar problems when i bought it. I took it to Mitsubishi for a full major service, charged me $650 and didnt even change the back spark plugs!!!

At the time the car had done 43,000kms and the reason was that they get changed at 60,000km!! what a croc of shiat!!
I then went ahead and changed them myself and the car ran fine and never ever had a problem since.
Dont be a fool and listen to Mitsubishi, they dont know sh*t!
If spark plugs could last until 100,000kms then life would be much easier!

hahaha,
I second that, surely would make my life easier now.
Thanks for the info mate, I will get them all change this weekend.
While they opened the box up, it shouldnt be too hard for them to do the lifters yeh?

It would still take a while, but it shouldn't be hard for them as few members already had their done at SL.
Damit Max, the more you going to ask them to fix, the later i'm going to get my car back

btw, what should I expect to pay for 135k kms service, considering I am providing the oil and oil filter.

yeah, but its only going to be like $20-$30 or something. if they charge u more than they are rip off punks!

Hahahah i'm telling u they are busy cause they are, not because i've got my car in there, my record of leaving my car in there is 1 1/2 yrs. That because it was my spare car, & it was getting a conversion done.
Mil what you mean by $20-30? for a service? U serious? How much vodka are you on already heheheh

platnums and iridium plugs last around 100000kms! i changed mine after 120,000 kms and they are fine. If your car isnt misfiring and hasnt hit 100ks yet theres not need to change them.
and if your tacho stays put while speed and rpms are clearly audible it probably something wring with the tacho. If you feel it eg power delivery isnt smooth but more like a surge, then have a look at your tps. If the problem exist in your sh*t then check your tranny out.
If you tacho drops but dont feel or hear it through your car, its not mechanical related.

Left the car to SL Motorsports on the weekend and even had a test drive with Lee.

Lee said platnums goes for around 90k-100k as well.

Dont think anything wrong with my tacho display, as power loss (or Lee described as hesitation) is obvious. TPS certainly can be one of the major source of this problem, cause I am already getting a 13 TPS error from my cpu. However, I dont know who or how to test the TPS. Lee will service my tranny as well.

This is not the case. I can hear and feel it.

When I went to SL Motorsports last Sat, first I showed Lee what is the problem, and then he test drive the car.
He definately felt it, however he described as;
tranny is applying additional revs when first changing the gear to drop the pressure, and then taking the revs off (which is where I feel the power loss or hesitation) when reaching the certain rpm.
He said it is normal, however, I definately dont hink that it is normal at all.

yeah, if u drive like ms daisy yr platinum plugs 'might' last 80,000kms. who the hell drives like that in a sports car?? also paladin, GR engines are different and dont heat up as much as Mivecs.
