Called them up, they said they'll call me back within the hour as it is being pieced together and almost done. Then i go down there, and bring back a dyno sheet

Told me that it was worked on for about 7 hours and the guy said it will require another 4 hours - he said that in the first 3 of the original 7 hours so... Not sure if its 7hrs inc the 4 hrs or 7 + 4 :? And that the 'another 4 hours' was because the 'the design is a joke and lots of stuff has to be taken off to get to the the last bolt of the water pump'.

I think all up, i'll part out a bit over a grand.

I will take care of the rest of the 100,000k stuff which i believe IIRC is::
- Oil & oil filter service
- Fuel filter (now that will be a bitch cock)
- Air filter (maybe)
- brakes & fluids
- All other fluids

Yeah i reckon it would be worth putting a haltech in, u can get up to 10 to 19 KW increase. So what are the performance mods that u have on your car? 2.5" Extractor back exhaust system, CAI and is there more?

Ok, here is the dyno sheet...

WTF? You cant be bothered spelling my name right? tsk... :facepalm2: Oh well...

So the factors that i know of that contributed(or could have) to this result was:
- Oil filter and Oil was changed by mech - 15w50 semi synthetic - he said it was hot these days and 5w30 is too thin - i agree.
- He put iridium plugs front and rear (wtf?) when Dras had already changed my plugs(platinum) at the Bennoz DIY Day less than 10000k ago but oh well... at least he changed the spark plug seals which was a problem anyway...
- some reason, on the receipt, they used some additive - automatic trans oil (wtf? what for? they must know what they are doing though, ill see what happens.)
- Topped up my coolants

though overall, the engine seems to feel like its running smoother(the thicker oil?) and the exhaust note seems to have gotten a bit throatier, the rasps have been dampened a bit(again, must be the thicker oil and/or iridiums which john claimed has better spark)

And that rattle that i have been bitching about before seems to be gone!

107.5KW? After you listed the factors you said that contributed to the result, yeah then you probably could have gotten more. How much torque does it have?

My last dyno i got 115KW and it should maybe have a bit more because ive had the spark plugs changed and fuel filter changed recently at 50,000km and i only have a CAI. And im on 52,7xxkms now.

Dunno how many times we gotta say it kids, different dynos = comparing apples & oranges.

FYI, I knows Johns Dyno is a tight arse dyno.

Plus its 4 billion degrees out here today & 95% humidity. That'll f**k any hopefull figure.

Yeah Ben, what i was trying to say is that his FTO is capabile of more KWs. I dont know if what i said before made sense in what i was trying to say. Yep exactly its bloody hot and thats gonna affect the results and yes also different dyno's would result in different results.

Hopefully that sounded better than what i said before, honestly i hope u didnt take it in the wrong way.

I would not worry about it. sh*t look at my car two dynos say 137kws and another one said 115kws :?

Unless you find a place that locks the car away in a room where they can change temp, humidity and all the other sh*t.
Your numbers will keep jumping up a d down every time :? .

I wouldn't be whinging with that result...i think it's pretty good on UAS' tightarse dyno as Bennoz said. Especially considering it only has breathing mods.. i think the result is average/good.

Lol...$1700...you do realise you basically paid for some mechanic to learn on the job right?? =/
Someone that had done it before would knock a fair few hours off that but ah well, that's how money and the world goes around.

Oh hey, you mentioned tip transmission, that's a very good result then imho.

Yeah!! Exactly!! I paid the guy some hours to learn how to do an FTO timing belt the first time!! I think....

And I have never mentioned a tip transmission, lol, I was just surprised to see 'additives: automatic transmission fluid' in the invoice... i thought, wtf? what for? its a manual? hello?

Oh, and if Aza would get 115 if he ever dyno'd at UAS, that would make me extremely happy  coz then i will realize im just a few kw under him

And the guy said it really wont make a big difference putting a piggyback since the air fuel ratio isnt too out of wack... What you think guys? John recommended an "Apexi Supra FC" instead as it was cheaper... wtf? supra gadgets? on an fto?

Was talking to John and co at UAS about your car today Gholdy lol.

They said it was about the best sounding car they have ever had on their dyno. So that counts for at least +40kw.

Reckoned it was the nicest looking FTO he had seen too. So +20kw again.
Damn you always stealing all the glory.

They did admit they had a bit of trouble with the water pump though lol. Their current mechanic has only been there about a year I think, so thanks for training him for the rest of us :-P

John always tried to convince me to get a SAFC too lol. But what do you expect from a Nissan workshop? I just always smile and nod.

As a bit of an indicator, my bone stock vR manual pulled 99atw on John's dyno, so I was going to say 107.5 out of a tip on a super hot day is actually a pretty decent effort, but it's a manual :? Hmm, just blame the crazy arse weather.

My loss will be everyone else in the area's gain
Provided it is the same mechanic...

...But 99?! What the Eff?! So all my efforts only yielded me 7.5kw?! :pale:

I really do hope it was on account of hot day! Or else i'll just have a cry in the corner...

Ahh S'ayt... I'll go to other dynos that the guys on here have used so it will be an easier comparison...
