Engines really shouldn't break unless you do something really stupid to them =P 6a12 can tolerate a lot (I've sent my cylinder pressures through the roof when my air intake sucked water into the manifold, it actually survived =P )

I'm surprised no one has tried to bolt on a turbo without changing the compression, you'd need less boost charge to get the same amount of power (fuel for that matter too)

You just wouldn't get the same amount of O2 into the system, but I thought the higher comp would of made up for that *shrugs*

What would I know, I've never rebuild an engine before =) All I know is if you start modifing the engine, expect to have your car back double the estimate time you gave it =P

I'll just keep my yap shut now =)

but not lowering the comp ratio while adding forced induction would maybe cause dentonation etc.

I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain Scracy's compression ratio is still standard. From memory I thought you only had to lower it if you were going to increase the pressure over a certain limit.

Wouldn't supercharging a MIVEC be bad?
Seeing as superchargers produce peak power at relatively low revs, while the MIVEC goes to 8000rpm?
Be a shame to make an FTO feel like a commodore IMHO

Also, what is the unique's website???

he never said S/C is bad.

S/C would be the easier route than turbo, cheaper as well probably.

C-west never made a front bar or bodykit for the FTO

HKS never made camshafts or valves for the FTO

Down low is where the FTO needs the most improvement, once it's in the MIVEC range it powers on quite nicely.

I was asking if S/C on a 6A12 MIVEC would be bad
Because of the high redline, and the supercharger usually isn't that great for high revving engines, because you would get peak power too low in the revrange

And I've driven FTO's, they seemed to have quite a lot of low end power... considering what they are

low rpm grunt is what the FTO misses out on! Theres where a lot of improvment is welcome.

and Greddy wouldn't have any gaskets for the 6A12 either...

on another note, lowering the compression ratio may allow you run higher boost, but bear in mind that it will also make the car feel a little more sluggish to drive... ;)

you may call it what you want, just don't fool yourself into thinking it's a genuine C-West bumper specifically made for the FTO... as you know HK is notoriously known for selling cheap imitation/modified copies of branded kits... whatever it is that you've got your hands on, we'd be interested to see the pics! :D

Hey fto617, you got the address for the place where you got your stuff from? I'm going back to Hong Kong soon, & i've got 2wks to kill.
