I can't give pricing yet as we are still finalising the kits.

I won't give the name yet of this firm as I don't think they want a heap of people contacting them whilst they are still building the vehicle.
But once it is completed be assured, I will give the details out as this firm of course when they have some answers on price to fit, results etc would be more than happy to then speak with people about this.

Bear with us - it has taken a long time to get to this point and rushing now would not acheive anythign for anyone.

Updated information on the turbo kit.

Unfortunatly our test fiter in the eastern states has still not come to the party so the two prototypes are on there way to the UK on Friday for test fitting in our Dealer in Scotland "The Garage" who I belive is already being swamped with enquiries.

He will be test fitting the first kit to a Mivec FTO and modifying the 2nd set of pipes if necessary. If not all the better but eiether way once fitted, tuned and we have word back, then the 2nd set of pipes will be returned to Australia for manafacturing.

I know a lot of people are waiting on this as are we but bear with us. We have invested a lot of money into this and will keep the pressure up.

I beleive the test fitter is a member of the UK FTO club so the feedback will be very blunt and honest which is great.

one thing i just realised - do we need an additional injector or upgraded fuel pump to complement the turbo kit? last thing i want is to deprive the motor from much needed fuel during boost!!

Our kit will come standard with larger injectors - depending upon your choice of computer system if it is a Greddy E-Manage which we use and recomend then we supply 275cc injectors, if it is something more limited like a Unichip then probably something around a 210cc injector depending upon boost level.

The reason for this is the greddy e-manage has a built in injector correction factor for the larger V standard unit to enable smooth idle with an injector up to 200% biggr than stock so we can virtually allow us to run any boost level you wish and not run out of injector size as well as still retain stock factory fuel and power curves off boost as the greddy will downscale the injector trims back to factory flow rates - this is not somethign that any other system does.

our kit will also come with a FSE Fuel pressure regulator rising rate.

If you do need a larger fuel pump - we are yet to confirm if this is necessary yet even with the above then we already have a 225 l/h walbro pump which should be a direct bolt into the vehicle in stocks (We use this same pump in our 3.5 v6 turbo magna)

injectors

Post by elmo »

Are the 6a12 injectors the same as the 6a13 turbo ones???
I thought Danny only recently had to add extra injectors and he has a sh*t load more boost than what we are talking about on stock 6a12 motors???
Also, someone/somewhere said something about the stock FTO injection system is only running at 25% capacity, is this right?

The stock injectors aer very small on the FTO due to individual small cylinder sizing and I would not trust the stock injectors under boost they are very differnt to the 6A13 engine which run very large injectors.

I also do not use a 5th or in this case a 7th injector system as it does not provide equal distribution of fuel throught he manifold (Remember the manifold is designed for air not fuel) and as such you need to run massivly rich on teh extra injector to provide sufficient fuel to all cylinders.

This will not be a probelm as the injectors we are providing will fit straight into the vehicle and will not be so large as to create problems with overfuelling.

For example the stock FTO injector is only a 156cc injector.
We have available as optional upgrades

166cc / 210cc / 240cc / 275cc / 300cc / 350c / 390cc / 450 cc etc

so fueling is no problem for us to organise and rectify.

well apparently RPM in SA has turbo'd a manual MIVEC with an additional injector and scored close to 150kw at the wheels... not sure of the injector sizing, but for those who are interested, a similar setup on a tiptronic would net about 130kw at the wheels (on 7psi of boost). All this depends on the tuning of course... :)

I didn't know any state in Australia has restrictions on the type of passenger car (ie not truck or motorbike) that you can drive.

The only issue would be getting an engineers certificate and getting the modifications registered through the RTA or the like.

Insurance on the otherhand is something completely different, and many won't insure any driver under 25 if the car has a turbo.

Victoria used to (may still have?) restrictions on what cars P-platers could drive which if I remember correctly depended on engine capacity to vehicle weight. The list of excluded cars included mostly exotics but I remember the 6 cyl Cortina sedan was on it!

Victoria still has that 125k/w per tonne power restriction I believe.

Honestly I never checekd into whether this is a at the wheels figure or flywheel figure =)
