hmm i didnt know u could paint...

might need your hands when im painting my WHOLE car

soory couldnt make it out there last weekend.. had a double header for soccer and then i had work in the arvo...

give me a buzz when u need an extra hand!

some update pix. i'm pretty happy with the finished result even though the colour is a little different. the new paint looks more "sparkly" than the factory paint, like the metalic flakes are slightly bigger. i was always thinking that you could tell it's been resprayed but it's way better than the last time it was done.

All finished now except for seats (being recovered) and the "GPX" sticker (Mr. Stocks).
painted the rims in a Ford classic grey metallic and the mirrors in matt black.

i knew there would be a colour difference but i did'nt want to paint the whole car. the boot and rear quarters had been painted before also. the colour was just bought over the counter and not colour matched, but it's good enough, i'll be selling it when i get it rego'd.
metallic is always hard to match, even for profesional painters.

yeah i know that... i had similar problems with my white one and a panelbeater... had to get my insurance company involved (seriously! how can you fk up white? even with the paint code!)

it would suit someone looking to buy and change the colour but your always gonna have to answer the question of why its a different colour... which sucks... (or you could just 'accidently' get it written off)

but im still mighty impressed and i acctually think that darker tone suits the car quite nicely, never been a fan of the factory silver, and gun metal grey is too dark

how much did you pay for the car? and how much you rekon the diy spray job cost?

it is the factory silver, A34 i think.
bought the car for $4,000, paint n stuff was about $500 and spent another $2,000 so far on brakes, shocks and various other things, just blue slip, green slip and rego still outstanding.
can't really put a price on labour, but i just do it for fun. bloke's gotta have a hobby !!!

there is no hiding the fact that it's been resprayed, and it wont be sold as a top dollar car because of that, but it's all straight, nice gaps and mechanically solid. i think as long as you are honest when selling, ppl respect that.
