Brake upgrades for the FTO;
Stage 1: If u don't have a GPX, get a set of GPX calipers and some decent rotors, etc. Have the calipers rebuilt.
(someone correct me if this is not a direct bolt on).
Stage 2 - Standard GPX Replacement Rotors:
DBA Street slotted would be the first step up, followed by DBA 4000 slotted, followed by Brembo Sport Slotted.
Unfortunately the Brembo's aren't available in Australia, but are cheaper than DBA stateside, just again difficult to get.
The FTO GPX front rotor is the same as the GT3000 front rotor (except VR4 models) which opens up more options from the US. Ideally a curved vein rotor is the best option (though I haven't yet found one that is a direct replacement).
Stage 3 - fixed piston calipers: This kit from Endless is the best I've found so far, uses standard rotor size so no issues with clearance or replacement rotors, and comes from a quality company so direct bolt on should be a snap.

From here you'd be moving into full race custom kits = expensive and complicated (and overkill).
Also you want some braided brake lines (the ones from Camskill (HEL) seem OK and cheap).
Also decent fluid such as Motul RBF600 with a full system bleed.
And some decent pads, depending on application. I use Project Mu. The HC+ would be a good all round street & track pad.
One key point with brake rotors, don't buy cross drilled, these will crack under extreme pressures (ie at the race track). Also don't buy anything that is slotted right to the edge of the disk, again these will crack at the edges in the slots. Hairline cracks in the face of the rotor are no probs though, only a problem if the crack extends to the outside of the disk, in which case replace it asap, as it will fail sooner than later
HTH

Don't forget the UAS kit
330mm rotors & ex HSV PBR calipers.

I was going to look into doing an upgraid untill yesterdays track day, the blue stuff pads that got put in are beeeeping great. I was still powering round turn one hitting aprox 165+ (looked down at speed just befor going into turn one 162 and still going up) then hard on the breaks for turn two down to aprox 60-70 (at a gess, as you don't get time to look at the speed)
So I would recomend these pads if you have the $$$$ for them.

question. do you change to blue stuff pads only when u hit the tracks and then replace them with other normal ones for road use?
i mean also for the tyres. do you do the same? semi-slicks for tracks then change back to normal ones after track day, so you can save them for the next track day.

I take oil, water, brake fluid & bleed kit, ring spanner set, socket set, jack, jumper leads, tyre pressure gauge, pliers (long & short), a hammer, selection of screw drivers, a big steel breaker bar & the laptop to dial into the Haltech if needed.
Thats about it!
If I know something like the brake pads are getting low, then I'll take a spare set & swap them on the day if need be.
Oh & spare nos bottles if Im using that!
